Vintage Mic-Pre
Vintage mid 60ies classic successor to the legendary V72 valve amplifier. Whilst it used to be relatively easy to find on the second-hand market for many years, and sometimes at quite reasonable prices, it is now, having been recognised as a first-class microphone preamp, a sought-after module with steadily rising prices. The TELEFUNKEN V672 boasts excellent specs (noise / headroom / THD+N) and sounds very musical. It’s certainly not the most open-sounding mic preamp, but it’s one of the warmest and most charismatic, with a distinct colouration in the midrange. Even with a cheap SM57 hooked up to a guitar amp, it always sounds somehow better than many of the much more expensive preamps. The unit is in really good condition and was working last time I used it. However it is sold here (due to its age) as "not working".
