I play mandolin in a band and wanted a guitar for jamming on my own, so this four-stringer caught my eye. Initially I was planning to retune it from CGDA to GDAE (with a different set of strings of course) so that I wouldn't have to learn new course shapes, but ended up using Chicago tuning DGBE (with the original strings) instead, as it sounded better for strumming. I have had this guitar for a while now and I am extremely satisfied. It holds its tuning very well, the finish is immaculate, and the sound is very big, which is surprising given the size. It is also very good accompanyment to normal guitar with this tuning as it emphasizes the higher elements of chords (top 4 strings of a normal guitar). The neck is not as flat as on a standard guitar, but is very comfortable to play. The string spacing is bigger than on guitar, which is perfect for me.
And the best part: all of this for such a low price! It is incredible what a high quality instrument this is, and not only for the money. Thoroughly recommended!
