KORG

Korg Inc., founded as Keio Electronic Laboratories in 1962, is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures electronic musical instruments, audio processors and guitar pedals, recording equipment, and electronic tuners. Under the Vox brand name, they also manufacture guitar amplifiers and electric guitars.

 

Nord

Clavia Digital Musical Instruments (Clavia DMI AB) is a Swedish manufacturer of virtual analog synthesizers, virtual electromechanical pianos and stage pianos, founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 1983 by Hans Nordelius and Mikael Carlsson. Since 1995, Clavia’s keyboards have been branded Nord.

 

AKAI Professional

Akai Electric Company Ltd was founded in 1946 in Tokyo, Japan. It is now owned by inMusic Brands in the USA, changed its name to Akai Professional, and is distributing high-end audio electronics products.

 

Arturia

Arturia is a French electronics company founded in 1999 and based in Grenoble, France. The company designs and manufactures electronic musical instruments, including software synthesizers, drum machines, analog synthesizers, MIDI controllers, sequencers, and mobile apps.

Dreadbox

Dreadbox is a boutique company based in Athens, Greece. It was founded in 2012 by Yiannis and Dimitra. The fact that they were both broke amateur musicians, forced them to mingle with circuits so as to build their own effects and later synthesizers. Everything is built and assembled in their workshop with infinite love. Their philosophy is to design devices that they would fancy using in the first place.

 

IK Multimedia

Way back in 1996 — around the time electricity was discovered and cell phones were the size of your average 4-slot toaster — two Italian engineers got together to solve a problem in a recording studio. Could you get the sound of classic analog gear from a computer? One of them said “Could we emulate electronic circuits using DSP algorithms and feed an audio signal through the computer and get the same sound?” The answer was yes, the piece of gear they emulated was a vintage Abbey Road console, and a company, IK Multimedia, was born.

 

Modal

Modal Electronics, founded in 2013, is headquartered in Bristol, UK. At that time, the development team at Modal felt vintage and contemporary synthesisers were lacking the innovative spirit bound to these instruments from decades before. It was time for overdue updates to the old-school sounds, aesthetics and concepts.

 

 

Moog Music Inc.

Moog Music Inc. is an American company based in Asheville, North Carolina, which manufactures electronic musical instruments. It was founded in 1953 as R. A. Moog Co. by Robert Moog and his father and was renamed Moog Music in 1972. Its early instruments included various Moog modular synthesizer systems, including the world’s first commercial synthesizer, followed by the launch of the Minimoog in 1970, which became one of the most coveted and influential electronic instruments of all time.

 

Novation

Novation Digital Music Systems Ltd. is a British musical equipment manufacturer, founded in 1992 by Ian Jannaway and Mark Thompson as Novation Electronic Music Systems. Today the company specialises in MIDI controllers with and without keyboards, both analog and virtual analog performance synthesizers, grid-based performance controllers, and audio interfaces.

 

Roland

Roland Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, electronic equipment and software. It was founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi in Osaka on April 18, 1972.

 

SOMA Labs

SOMA laboratory was founded by Vlad Kreimer in 2016 after success with the LYRA-8 synthesizer. We are a small boutique company of like-minded people who are in love with expressive high-quality sound and are ready to spend all our time and energy to realise our vision and ideals. Our developments combine an experimental innovative approach with the simultaneous use of the best technologies of the golden age of analog synthesizer manufacturing. SOMA laboratory is based in Russia and Poland.

 

Waldorf

Waldorf Music is a German synthesizer company. They are best known for the Microwave wavetable synthesizer and Blofeld virtual analogue synthesizer. The company was founded in 1988 by Wolfgang Düren.

 

Yamaha

Yamaha Corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation and conglomerate with a very wide range of products and services. It is one of the constituents of Nikkei 225 and is the world’s largest piano manufacturing company.
