V-Picks Tradition

If you are into picks you have got to try out some V-Picks. I head about V-Picks about a year ago. They are basically laser-cut handmade picks. V-Picks are made out of a cast acrylic material. Basically this is a special grade of plexi-glass. There are several things that I really dig about V-Picks including tone, durability, gripability and variety.

I am admittedly a bit of a pick freak. By that I mean that I love to try new and different picks to see how they affect my tone and playing. Having said that, it is pretty needless to say that I was super stoked when my shipment of V-Picks came in the mail. I have really found that V-Picks add a little something special to my guitar tone in the note attack and midrange areas.

V-Picks come in a pretty staggering variety of shapes sizes and thicknesses. You might be quite surprised when you see how thick some of these guys are! I admittedly did not like all of the V-Picks that I tried, but there were quite a few that I really fell in love with.

I play a lot of ?strummy? acoustic music in addition to my electric guitar playing so I kind of leaned toward some of the thinner V-Picks. Some of my favorite V-Picks that I tried were ones that could use to easily go back and forth between strumming an acoustic and shredding on an electric. I really dig the ULP Small, ULP Large, Lite Small, Lite Large, Bb, Screamer, Tradition UL, SwitchBlade and the Stiletto.

Top aber teuer

So skeptisch wie ich vor dem Kauf war, so begeistert war ich danach. Dieses Pick hat tatsächlich den Klang beim Gitarre spielen noch einmal eine Ecke nach oben gehoben, der Sound war klarer. Auch die Abnutzung ist geringer als bei preisgünstigen Picks (die halten bei mir im Schnitt 2-3 Wochen). Nach eineinhalb Monaten waren dann doch die ersten Einschleifungen zu sehen (man muss dazu aber auch sagen, dass es am Musik- und Spielstil liegen kann). Aufgrund des hohen Preises bleibe ich daher bei günstigerer Massenware. Wer kein Problem mit dem Preis hat, oder wer das Pleck nur für bspw. ein paar Tage im Studio verwenden will, wird hiermit glücklich.

Jouant 90% aux doigts, donc pas adepte des médiators, je suis très agréablement surpris!
Je ne l'utilise pas pour faire du strumming de malade, mais pour jouer en solo ou en powerchord, c'est top!
J'ai aussi pris un V-picks Euro I, c'est très bien aussi (peut être un peu mieux pour moi)

Se nota la diferencia

Por recomendación, me decidí a probar la V-pick más similar a las Delrin 2mm que siempre he usado. Esta es muchísimo más rápida y cómoda para alternar entre cuerdas en estilos como death metal, una gozada, aunque tal vez sea demasiado brillante en las primas.

Eso sí, en una hora de darle un poco de caña, ya muestra alguna muesca importante. Sin duda influirá el estilo y la manera de tocar, pero cabe señalar que a pesar de ello, prácticamente jamás rompo cuerdas.

Teniendo en cuenta el precio desorbitado, y a falta de ver cómo aguanta a la larga, se me hace difícil creer que vaya a convertirse en mi nueva púa de referencia. Aún así, creo que merece la pena probarlas y/o reservarlas para otros estilos o situaciones concretas.
