DiGiGrid DiGiGridD

Das DiGiGrid D wirkt so auf dem Studiotisch etwas belanglos, aber die Funktionen sind aus meiner Sicht sehr durchdacht, es deckt viel mehr ab, als man denkt. Seine IOX-Spielkameraden werden im Studioalltag wesentlich seltener benötigt, als man so annehmen sollte. Einzig bei den Ausgängen hätte ich mir ein echtes Paar für zwei weitere Monitorlautsprecher gewünscht. Abgesehen davon habe ich aber nichts zu bemängeln. Das Teil ist gebaut wie ein Panzer, die Bedienelemente machen insgesamt auch nach mehreren Monaten einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Bei den Beschriftungen hätte man beim Layout von mir aus auch etwas weniger sparsam sein können, aber ist soweit alles in Ordnung. Die Audio-Qualität ist beeindruckend. Die Vorgänger-Interfaces habe ich mittlerweile verkauft. Das DiGiGrid-System deckt hier mittlerweile alles ab. Bei FOH-Jobs hab ich das DiGiGrid D am FOH-Platz für Talkback und Zuspieler bei mir, hab es sogar selbst schon auf der Bühne für mein In-Ear verwendet, wofür es aber wohl nie gedacht war. Ist aber deshalb kein Problem, weil sogar der Kopfhörer-Verstärker mit sehr definierten Muskeln im Schweinwerferlicht glänzt.

Alles in allem - eine sichere Bank dieser lila Kasten! :)

I have had this interface for just over two yers now. I really appreciate the versatility of the interface that the SoundGrid patching offers. As someoen who has three machines in my studio, patching all the sources is simple, straightforward and easy to manage. With Waves also updating their SoundGrid Studio recently, the usabilty of the applicaiton to patch the device became even simpler. I highly recommend this as a mobile rig for a small recording setup, small home studio or as an addition to an existing SoundGrid setup. Sturdy dials, good quality and rugged.

Sound quality is good, no doubt about that.
I use this box as an interface for FOH connections in an LV-1 Soundgrid network, and surprisingly the preamps are not digitally controlled. Just something to be aware of. You DO have physical knobs for gain control, so that is perhaps to be expected. To me this ought to be the perfect I/O companion at smaller shows, but it is a bit bulky and to be honest quite ugly. It also lacks a proper Ethercon connection, which is a bit of a shame. High impedance inputs are also a bit of an odd feature for my personal purposes.
Build quality is great and it really is as sturdy as it looks.
