Shadow SH NFX EP-C

I Successfully fitted a Shadow NFX EP-C preamp and pick-up to my practice Classical guitar.
As an improving guitar student I wanted to review and critique my practice sessions objectively.
I liked the un-intrusive location of the pre-amp; where a strap button might normally fit. I was impressed by the quality of the sound from the pick-up which performed well after I set up the guitar to compensate for the additional 1mm height at the saddle.
Shadow rightly recommend a professional installation is best.
I do have good DIY skills so I did install it myself and found the instruction sheet very clear and accurate. I have noted that my guitar now has improved tone.
I add EQ control using a Fishman platinum stage DI into an analogue mixer where I record the output. I also successfully used a low cost passive DI although, as expected, the Fishman did sound much better.
I now use the preamp to record my practice sessions; it makes reviewing and analysing my work much easier and helps me identify and focus on discrepancies. For example it is easier to hear variations in volume, timing, tone and musicality.

Overall I am very pleased with my new pre-amp and would recommend it.

Shadow support is very good and I was able to register for extended warranty of 5 years.
