Perfect resonator guitar. I always wanted small parlor resonator guitar and this is a perfect choice for me.
It is very loud for parlor guitar (dread loud) and it can handle dynamic playing from soft fingerpicking to loud strumming (i use only fingers).
Factory setup:
setup is great - nut is low (if you want to play lap guitar, you will need to buy higher nut)
action is medium-high for steel bar playing - if you want to play standard you will have to probably sand the saddle
Weight:
If you want travel parlor guitar, this is not great choice for traveling on foot, it is very heavy
Finish, playing:
The guitar looks fantastic, neck is comfortable and I really enjoy to play this little beast.

To be honest I always wanted a resonator, but I was somewhat unsure about getting into this new world.
As my other guitars, dismantled and reassembled close to million times now, kept being "not that", I finally decided to get this parlor in awe of the looks and the sound heard on YouTube videos. A bit risky, but I'm so glad I took it.
The neck was instantly super comfortable to play, which is surprising given that I spent last 5 years playing mainly electric guitars.
Quality check- great, thank you Jerry.
Sound is heavenly (100% they got swampy terrains there, otherwise impossible) and every time I sit with this guitar, I end up composing a new song/rewriting old ones. Astonishingly inspiring.
Not sure if Recording King has some ghost-binding ritual included in the production process or it's something else, but please continue doing it.
Oh, and as for the looks- better than in the photos.

Perfect resonator for the price

I have several reso guitars both metal and wood and this is by far the best. Not only is it very comfortably playable and beautiful but also very loud despite the parlor size. If I could choose one resonator it would be this one.

Ce résonateur est une belle surprise. en général, sur le milieu de gamme, les finitions laissent à désirer, mais ici ce n'est pas le cas, tout est correct. le laiton oxydé a de belles teintes verdâtres, on dirait qu'il a séjourné dans un marécage, il porte bien son nom (swamp dog). visuellement et au niveau sonore, c'est très typé, évidemment. le cône de bonne facture et le corps en métal lui donnent une projection énorme par rapport à sa taille, on n'a aucun mal à se faire entendre dans un orchestre acoustique! le manche en v est confortable. en drop d ou en open de ré avec un bottleneck bien lourd, c'est un régal! très bien pour le blues, mais pas seulement. sa taille permet de l'emporter partout (un peu lourd quand même). le seul détail esthétique auquel j'accroche moins, c'est la tête, j'aurais préféré qu'elle soit creuse, mais c'est affaire de goût et les mécaniques tiennent bien l'accord, donc c'est ok pour moi. si on veut de l'attaque, on met des onglets et pour un peu de rondeur, on joue aux doigts, tout passe très bien. j'ai beaucoup de plaisir à jouer dessus. le tirant des cordes et l'action étaient déjà impeccables à la réception. je précise que sur des résonateurs, je mets du gros tirant, pour jouer en slide et pour une fois, je n'ai pas eu à changer les cordes! très satisfait de cet achat, merci à Thomann pour le service et à UPS pour le transport.
