I've never had a recorder like this in the past. It's similar to switching from a plastic mouthpiece to a metal mouthpiece when playing the saxophone. The low notes have an oboe-like color. In the middle position, the notes are smooth and round. The high notes sound like silver in a mountain stream. This instrument has excellent tuning. It has a slightly heavier weight, but a rougher surface, so it sits well on the right thumb and the left thumb may benefit from lubrication. I was also very surprised by the very high sensitivity and reactivity of the instrument.
