Mesa Boogie Subway Ultra-Lite 1x15

I've now had some time to try this in combination with a 2x10 cabinet and on its own.
On its own the sound balance is vey smooth and flat (level).
The built in HF driver has a fully adjustable level control and the best position appears to be at the centre point "Normal" as it is labelled.
the High range is stated as -24dB to +24dB.
The LF sound is good and strong - with the slight tail off of the lowest frequencies. The sound is punchy and strong, but may not be quite enough for metal. Every other style should be fine.
The fact that this is deliberately designed to be light weight and portable without causing back injury means that the bass driver has perhaps less dB output than a heavier chassis would have.
In combination with a 2x10 cabinet this thing sits ON TOP! because the cabinet footprint is smaller! The 2x10 is powerful and punchy (as you would expect) but there is certainly more LF response from this Mesa.
I don't think it would be possible to make the design any smaller while still being a loaded bass cabinet.

Ce 15 est parfait pour ce qu’on attend de lui. Il encaisse et délivre des graves profond et précis.
Utilisé seul je trouve qu’il manque de médiums mais je pense que ça dépend du style de musique. Dans mon cas je l’utilise avec un 2x10 de la même série et c’est monstrueux.
Même si son encombrement est raisonnable pour un 15, il est un peu difficile à loger dans le coffre d’une voiture car il est assez profond mais il est léger...
Qualité de fabrication irréprochable.
Utilisé depuis de nombreuses années jamais aucun soucis....
Livré avec une house de très bonne qualité.

Nach langer Suche und Ausprobieren endlich am Ziel. Am Start waren diverse Ampeg, Orange, GK, SAD und Phil Jones. Am Ende vereinte die 15er Subway alle Kriterien, nach denen ich suchte. Dicker, runder 15er Klang, transportierbar und top Verarbeitung. Bei Mesa scheppert, brummt und fiept nichts, sie klingt einfach Sahne. Obendrauf gibt es auch noch ein schickes, wertiges Design. Die Subway habe ich noch nicht im Bandkontext testen können, aber ich mache mir da keine Gedanken. Sie überträgt jedes Signal sehr präzise, welches an Ihr anliegt, und färbt nicht. In meinem Fall ein Preci über Ampeg PF500. Noch nie habe ich den Charakter meiner Instrumente so klar definiert gehört. Hochtöner lässt sich nicht ganz abschalten, ist aber auch nicht nötig, da er in meinen Augen eher zurückhaltend eingreift. Faszinierend ist auch, wie sauber die Subway bei lauteren Pegeln bleibt. Wie wäre das wohl mit noch einer 12er obendrauf?.. man kriegt Lust auf mehr. Lieferung von Thomann war wieder sehr schnell, einfach gut.
