I recently purchased the Sire Marcus Miller F10-5 string bass from Thomann, making it my first Sire instrument and my first 5-string bass overall. I am incredibly impressed with my purchase!
What I Love:
The bass is stunningly beautiful to look at. The craftsmanship is excellent, from the smooth satin finish to the comfortable neck and fretboard. The range of tones available from the Humbucker pickups and the preamp is highly versatile, providing a wide array of sounds suitable for many different styles. The included hard case is also a significant bonus, offering robust protection for the instrument.
Points for Improvement:
There are a couple of minor drawbacks: the body is slightly unbalanced, the bass control knob, not the pot, just spins and comes off easily and the instrument is slightly on the heavy side.
Conclusion:
Despite these small negatives, I am extremely pleased with the F10-5. It was a tough choice between this and the Cort A5 Plus SC Amber Open Pore, but I’m confident that I made the right decision. Thomann also provided an easy transaction and superb delivery, which added to the positive experience. I highly recommend this bass to anyone in the market for a versatile and high-quality 5-string instrument.
