Positive.
- I use it to control active monitors (Neumann, Focal, Quested).
- Quality overall workmanship.
- Nice ergonomic control.
- Universal IN/OUT = symmetrical/unsymmetrical.
- Excellent for the price.
- Does not color, does not negatively affect sound quality.
- Compared to the much more expensive "SPL Volume2" - I rate the Big Knob as better overall. The "SPL Volume2" sometimes cracks and hums when turning the knob. I have two of them (3 and 6 years old). The 6 year old "SPL" is no longer usable.
- The "Big Knob" is completely silent when switching and turning. Super.
- 25%-100% very good stereo consistency. Which is absolutely essential
- 0%-25% inaccurate stereo image. I don't rate this as a negative in this price range. Because unfortunately this is a feature of just about all products in this price range. But in practice it doesn't matter, because in the studio you will use more than 30% or more volume. Only top products ( for example "Heritage Audio Baby RAM") have a top calibrated stereo image from min to max volume. But that's at many times the price.
Negative
- The only negative is that it is made in China. I'd rather pay extra for "Made in Europe", as with "Heritage Audio".
