Handy instrument for your recordings, but quality is lacking

The instruments comes in a sturdy and good looking plywood case, which really helps to keep the instrument in good condition. The general quality of the instrument itself is not the best on the other hand. Everything is working correctly, but the finish is just lazy. Metal keys are painted a bit lazy and you can see unfinished spots here and there, especialy on black keys. Also the wooden blocks, on which the metal plates are placed, are pretty rough, not planed or lacquered and full of splinters. Sound quality is ok otherwise, but not perfect. You can always hear a knocking sound together with the tone of the keys, but thats just how the construction is made, probably a bit more of cushioning under the metal keys could help reduce the effect somewhat. The first three metal keys (starting with G) from the left is buzzing against the upper black plates if you strike the keys harder. Its because the gap between the white and black keys are a bit too small and white keys jump a bit as you strike them, making them touch the black keys.

I'm still going to keep mine, because it is a handy instrument for recordings and sound effects, as well as general playing and Christmas parties (?). If you invest a bit of your time in it, and made some adjustements here and there, maybe work with a small planter or a piece of sandpaper on the edges, you probably end up with a decent instrument.

Nettes kleines Ding mit brillianten Sound

Habe mir das Goldon Metallophon als Teil meiner Instrumentensammlung zugelegt.
Des weiteren soll es auch mal für kleine Soundspielereien im Studio
herhalten, vielleicht nicht als Hauptinstrument, eher als Overdub.

Die Klangkörper sind fest im Koffer eingebaut, also Koffer aufklappen,
die dazugehörigen Schlegel nehmen und losdängeln.Bei Bedarf kann man
das Metallophon auch aus dem Kastenkoffer nehmen.

Die Verarbeitung ist für den Preis o.k. (made in Germany).
Ich gehe vorsichtig mit dem Instrument um, um es nicht größeren mechanischen
Belastungen auszusetzen, wo ich mir nicht sicher wäre ob es für diese ausgelegt
wäre.

Der Sound ist gut. Die Töne klingen rund und sind soweit richtig gestimmt.
Da es keine elastische Aufhängung der Klangstäbe gibt werden die Anschäge
auch auf den Holzkörper übertagen so daß sich zum Nutzgeräusch ein holzig
dumpfer Klang mischt. Dies ist aber zu vernachlässigen.

Im Ganzen ist das kleine Ding brauchbar und nett. Für einen richtigen Profi
auf solchen Instrumenten ist es natürlich ein Witz aber dessen Instrumente
kosten aber deutlich,deutlich mehr.

Je ne regrette absolument pas cet achat, le son est superbe.
Petit bémol : quand on le sort de sa boîte, les deux côtés dans lesquels sont insérées la planche du carillon ne sont pas collés et du coup, la table d'harmo,nie peut se désolidariser de ses pieds!!!
Perso, je vais mettre mon petit bout de colle sur chaque extrémité mais ça aurait pu être fait en usine.
Par contre, sachez, qu'une fois à l'extérieur de sa boite, quand celle-ci est refermée, il est carrément prévu un petit contour en bois sur le couvercle pour que le carillon trouve bien sa place et ne risque pas la glissade. Très bien pensé!!!
