Göldo Zero Glide ZGZS5 Nut

I have often wondered why all guitars did not have a a Zero fret! Some do, but not all? Why? Now the ZerO Glide Nut from GoldTone has come along and I have just fitted one to my Taylor Dan Crary Signature model. According to the advertising blurb improvement will be found in three areas: action at 1st position/fret - intonation and open string tone. I agree wholeheartedly with all three claims and am very pleased, and impressed, with the result I have obtained! The guitar sounds brighter on open string chords - with noticeably improved open string tone - and the1st fret action is perfect. The ZerO Glide Nut I needed was the Z-S-15 and it fits to perfection. This is very precisely engineered product and does exactly what it claims. I fitted it myself. It took a lot longer than I anticipated (a lot of sanding needed on four faces of the nut), but, it was worth it. I intend, in the near future, to repeat the exercise on my other guitars. Well done Zero Glide Nut! it was a long wait but worth it in the end!

Enchanté par l'amélioration obtenue avec le ZGZS7F sur une Telecaster JA90 en terme d'action, de justesse et de sustain, j'ai voulu tenté la même expérience sur ma folk Yamaha CPX10 dont le sillet d'origine est déjà très satisfaisant. Pas mal de ponçage pour adapter la pièce à la touche mais l'occasion de vérifier que le matériau est très dur. Au final pas de changement flagrant mais l'assurance d'avoir un réglage optimisé. Pour ceux qui veulent tirer le meilleur de leur instrument sans avoir pour autant les connaissances, l'outillage et le coup de main nécessaires pour tailler un sillet, c'est la solution.

Eine Investition die sich wirklich lohnt ist dieser Nullbund-Sattel. Nach Experimenten mit Graphit und selbstgekerbtem Sattel ist diese Modifikation die erste die an meiner Gretsch E-Gitarre mit Bigsby (und abgeschrägte Kopfplatte) richtig gut funktioniert.

1. rutschen die Saiten nun gut und ohne klemmen über den Sattel
2. die Saitenlage kann tiefer angesetzt werden, ohne Schnarren
3. die Stimmstabilität hat sich enorm verbessert bzw. ist kein Thema mehr
4. Probleme mit unangepasst klingender G-Saite sind behoben, also gespielte
Leersaiten klingen durch den Nullbund im Soundcharakter nun identisch wie
gegriffene Saiten

Den Umbau kann man sich meiner Meinung nach auch als Laie zutrauen, mit ein wenig handwerklichem Geschick.
Alter (eingegeklebter) Sattel gemäß eingeholter Informationen mit Vorsicht entfernt, den Göldo Zero Glide und eines der 4 mitgelieferten Bundstäbchen mit Feingefühl an der Schleifmaschine in seinen Maßen angepasst und wieder eingeleimt.

Monté sur une Gibson SG Standard.

Avantage : Le zero frette c'est vraiment génial pour la stabilité et la qualité de l'accord, et bien sûr sur tous les open chords qui deviennent super clair. Vous arriverez même à avoir une action plus stable et donc plus basse.

Inconvénient : ?? oui, il y en a un, ce n'est pas du copié collé !!! Donc faites bien attention a vérifier le gabarit d'espacement de vos cordes (le pdf !) Malgré que je possède une Gibson, j'ai du prendre un sillet Taylor! Puis, c'est de la patience, on ponce, on ponce, doucement, jusqu'à ce que tout s'ajuste parfaitement, et là, vous ne serez absolument pas déçu. Donc très bon sillet, mais se mérite !!! Ne faites surtout pas le changement à l?arrache ou là, catastrophe assurée!
