DW SP-024 Pedal Spring

I found that the spring had too much tension. I checked on the DW web site and saw that this is high tension but, the one next to it SP-020 was normal tension. The different was this one had the mounting hoop. I would have thought that they were the same spring. If you are going to buy one check to make sure of the correct tension. I'm struggling to play with the SP-024 spring even after spending a couple of hours trying to adjust it. I have now ordered the SP-020 from Thomann hopefully this will work.

It works

It does what it's supposed to do but it can be very hard to install. And if you tighten and loosen it regularly it will crack pretty fast.

Wirklich hart...

Ich nutze die Feder an einer DW 8000 Doppelfußmaschine. Die Feder ist wirklich deutlich härter als die Standardfeder. Bei lockerer Einstellung gibt sie mir wie erhofft ein besseres Spielgefühl. Das Pedal reagiert schneller und angenehmer als bei der Stadardfeder in harter Einstellung. Ist diese Feder jedoch hart eingestellt, pendelt der Schlägel sehr schnell und kurz aus. Für mich deutlich zu hart und schlecht zu kontrollieren.

Negativ war die Montage. Die Feder ist so hart, das man den Federbogen nicht so einfach draufgezogen bekommt. Funtkioniert hat das bei mir nur durch das Aufbiegen des Federbogens und der ist auch alles andere als ein weicher Blumendraht. Es wäre daher schön gewesen, wenn man diese Feder, wie andere Federn auch direkt mit Federbogen hätte kaufen können. Ich kann die Feder zwar empfehlen allerdings sollte man geeignetes Werkzeug am Start haben.
