terrible footswitch noise

Palisades' amazing features allow you to easily obtain pretty much any type of overdrive sound from clean boost to fuzz and everything in between. All 3 footswitches however produce a terrible popping sound when engaged. I've never met that kind of flaw in any other pedal. I immediately returned it for a refund. If you don't mind the footswitch noise though, it's one of the best and more flexible overdrives out there.

Super flexibles Klangwunder

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Overdrive-Pedal, welches möglichst flexibel ist, da ich eher mit Pedalen als mit dem Amp meinen Sound gestalte. Das Pedal sollte dabei möglichst die Flexibilität eines 3-kanaligen Amps ermöglichen, da ich im Song gerne mit Sound und Zerrgrad variiere. Da ich zudem ein großer TS-Fan bin, habe ich das EarthQuaker Devices Palisades Overdrive ausprobiert.
Und was soll ich sagen: Ich bin begeistert.
die Zerrkanäle A und B lassen sich in Lautstärke und Carakteristik individuell einstellen, wobei m. E. alle Varianten sehr geschmackvoll und nützlich ausgefallen sind. Die Boost-Funktion mit separatem Volume-Regler kann die Lautstärke und/oder den Zerrgrad steigern, sodass man auch Fuzz-artige Soundsrealisieren kann.
Die Sounds sind immer offen und transparent, Nebengeräusche oder Schaltgeräusche kennt das Pedal nicht.
Fazit: Das Pedal hat meinen H&K TTubeman Plus als Preamp abgelöst. In Sachen geschmackvoller und abwechslungsreicher Overdrivesounds für mich erste Wahl und das Ganze benutzerfreundlich im kompakten Gehäuse. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist wie von EarthQuaker Devices gewohnt 1A.
Empfehlung: Wenn ihr aus TS steht, dann testet das Palisades unbedingt an!

Une magnifique pedale

Du crunch a la distortion bien lourde, on est pratiquement forcés de trouver le son qu'on cherche. L'avantage est aussi de pouvoir "stacker" deux étages de gain (même si ce n'est pas du tout au tout) et d'avoir un boost, ce qui permet un une utilisation extremement polyvalente.

Gutes Pegal mit kleinen Schwächen

Eins vorweg, ich benutze Palisades mit Line Signalen, um einem Monosynth etwas Dampf zu verpassen. Funktioniert prima, man muss halt beim Gain Staging aufpassen, sonst werden die Gain Regler arbeitslos. Die LEDs sind ziemliche Netzhautbrenner, super wenn man als stehender Gitarrist das Ding auf dem Boden weit weg hat, aber auf dem Tisch bei mir isses doch ein bisi arg und wird daher noch abgedunkelt. Das einzig wirklich störende sind die beiden großen Wahlschalter außen, denn die produzieren Schaltgeräusche im Signalweg, wenn Palisades aktiv ist. Daher muss man für Umschaltaktionen immer zunächst auf bypass gehen - oder das halt als Stilmittel akzeptieren ;). Mechanische Verarbeitung ist tiptop, das wackelt nix und alles fasst sich grundsolide an. Würde ich wieder kaufen, für eine v2 wünsche ich mir knacksfreies Umschalten, wie das bei anderen Geräten ja durchaus machbar ist. Klanglich bietet mir Palisades was ich gesucht habe. Die Bedienung ist übersichtlich, mit ein bißchen Übung findet man auch schnell und zielsicher den gewünschten Sound.
