Affordable clip-on instrument mic
The Audio-Technica Pro35 is a compact condenser microphone with a clip mount, designed for versatile instrument miking. With a maximum sound pressure level of 145dB, it excels at capturing loud sound sources with clarity and detail. Whether used on brass instruments, saxophones, percussion, or drum toms, it delivers clean and precise audio even at high volumes. Weighing just 8 grams, its compact design remains unobtrusive and visually discreet. True to Audio-Technica's reputation, the Pro35 combines exceptional sound quality and workmanship at an affordable price.
Universal mount and practical design
The Audio-Technica Pro35 features a versatile UniMount clip, which enables easy attachment to a wide range of instruments. Its flexible gooseneck enables quick and precise positioning, ensuring the capsule is always placed in the sweet spot for optimal signal consistency. The mount utilises secure rubber-lined clamping jaws which provide superior shock-resistance for the microphone, whilst ensuring a firm hold on the instrument or surface without causing damage or sound dampening. Additionally, an 80Hz low-cut filter can be activated via the AT8538 power module to further reduce unwanted background noise. Like most condenser microphones, the Pro35 requires phantom power for operation.
Made for the stage
Designed primarily for live applications, the Audio-Technica Pro35 is an affordable yet professional-grade clip microphone. Its fixed cardioid polar pattern effectively reduces pickup of sounds from the sides and rear, improving isolation of the desired sound source, while minimising feedback. The capsule is fully encased in foam for protection against wind noise and potential knocks. A shielded 1.8m cable, securely attached to the AT8538 power module, provides a reliable connection while preventing interference. For added flexibility, the Pro35 is also available as the Pro35 CW, a wireless version compatible with Audio-Technica cW-style body-pack wireless transmitters.
About Audio-Technica
The Japanese company Audio-Technica was founded in 1962 and at first manufactured affordable phono cartridges. The company has since become acclaimed for a whole range of quality audio products. Audio-Technica released their first headphones in 1974. The company later gained huge popularity among musicians with the release of the AT4060 tube microphone. Audio-Technica focuses on high-quality components at affordable prices. Today, their product range offers a wide variety of microphones, headphones, and turntables as well as many other accessories.
Well-suited for lower frequencies
With its high maximum input level and subtly rounded treble, the Audio-Technica Pro35 is a reliable choice for live miking trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and percussion instruments. Its strong bass reproduction makes it particularly well-suited for lower-register wind instruments such as tubas or bass trombones. Additionally, the Pro35 delivers excellent results when mounted on the bridge of a double bass for live performances or used as a support microphone in studio recordings. Compact and lightweight, it offers both versatility and high-quality sound capture.
