Brilliant instrument overall, INSANE value for the price.

I've wanted this bass for around 4 years and i finally got it. i've been playing it for around 10 - months now. it plays beautifully out of the box, but i put some extra thick gauge strings on there out of preference. sounds awesome and there are few sounds you can't get out of it. sounds amazing both in active and passive modes, the frets are comfortable and the electronics feel robust and good quality.

The ONLY criticism i have is that the treble preamp is a little noisy. there's a noticeable hiss the more you turn it up (otherwise it is very low noise), but that has also been the case with other active circuits basses i've played. i'm going to look into solving that if possible.

Comfortable to play, good quality parts (especially for the price) incredible sound, maximum versatility, and it even looks gorgeous.

Second best bass i've ever played (the first was a 70's era P-Bass, cracked lacquer and everything, and that's worth over 4 times the price. i wouldn't expect this to beat that - thought it still came close)

Great value for the money

I have this since a couple years now. The bass is built perfectly, light and well balanced, it is all-round really comfortable. Hardware is perfect, and it's very easy to get to very low action, also frets are perfect.
String spacing at the bridge is 18mm.
What can really be improved is pickups and onboard eq, but for the first time, Yamaha finally used standard pickups routing (Bartolini P2 housing) so you can go for anything you like. I mounted Nordstrand Big Splits/John East Eq and now I have a really high-end instrument.
I highly reccomend this bass, great for beginners and also for pros on the budget

Gute Preisleistung

Yamaha ist immer eine richtige Auswahl für ein Instrument und auch dieser TRBX 505 ist mit einem richtig guter, solider Qualität --

Sound und Features:
Interessanterweise hatte ich ein ESP B205 natural Satin, also ist nur 10 Eur günstiger und sind die beiden gut vergleichbar. Das ESP wurde dann zurückgeschickt wegen einer Defekt in Elektorinik und als Ersatz habe ich für TRBX 505 entschieden. Im Vergleich hat ESP B205 ein etwa aggressiver, flacher Sound, aber TRBX 505 klingt warmer und flexibler-- schwierig zu sagen welche ist besser, persönlich gefällt mir aber dem TRBX besser. Die beiden sind mit 3-band aktiv EQ ausgerüstet, und an der Stelle ist der TRBX definitiv besser, insbesonder bei dem Mittenfrequenz. Dazu hat noch der Aktiv/Passiv schalter bei TRBX, der ebenfalls als ein Bonus im Vergleich zu ESP b205 aufzählt

Verarbeitung:
Die Verarbeitung von TRBX 505 ist definitiv nicht schlimm -- Mit ESP b205 hatte ich damals bisschen Schwierigkeit, sitzend auf Stuhl zu spielen (also wegen der Form und Gleichgewichtspunkt vom Körper). Das ist kein Problem für mich mit TRBX. Auch die weiße Lackierung von TRBX ist sehr schön. Ein Stern weg (vielleicht nur 0,5 Stern weg =) ) wegen der Krümmung von Greifbrett. Auch dabei eine Schraube zwischen Körper und Necke war nicht so sauber verschraubt, also der Holz ist ganz bisschen verletzt. Aber im Großen ein echt schönes Instrument.

Der Sound ist tatsächlich fast identisch (bezüglcih Lautstärke) zwischen aktiv u. passiv (wenn die Tonregler neutral eingestellt werden).
Die tiefe H-Saiter ist prägnant und klar und sauber (!) zu hören.
Die Tonreglung ist sehr variabel und deckt so ziemlich jeden Bereich ab.
Das Instrument hängt gut am gut und ist erheblich leichter als mein Yamaha BB N5A.
Die Bespielbarkeit fällt gegenüber dem BB etwas ab.
Vom Gewicht kommt er in die Nähe so manchen 4-Saiters.
Eine Kopflastigkeit ist, wenn überhaupt, nur geringfügig festzustellen.

Die Lackierung ist, dem Preis entsprechend geschuldet, an der einen oder anderen Stelle optimierungs-fähig.

Die Mechaniken stehen den Japan-Modellen in nichts nah und sind sehr gut bedienbar.
Der schmalere Hals ist auch etwas für kleinere Hände.
Alles in allen ein sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis und damit eine Empfehlung wert,
