The quality of the Yamaha Stage Custom drums is unbelievable, considering the low price tag. Simply replace the stock heads with professional ones, and you will be approaching the high-end category. For this drum I chose Remo Clear Emperor over Clear Ambassador. Great low-end punch and resonance. Love it!

Very good value for money

Flawless technical quality and very good sound for the money. Swapped stock heads to Remo Clear Ambassador on the resonant side and Coated Emperor on the batter side. This combination, added with a tiny bit of Moongel made the sound more controlled and fuller.

Worth noting when considering purchase of this tom that the drum has fairly high volume and sharp attack. For those favouring slightly mellower tone, coated double-ply head seems to do the trick.

hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in dieser Klasse

Ich habe mir diese Standtom als Ergänzung zum Stage Custum Set (20,10,12,14,14) gekauft. Ausgepackt, aufgestellt und eigentlich out of the box gleich spielbereit. Obwohl das gelieferte Remo UT ganz ordentlich klingt, werde ich es - wie das übrige set - durch ein höherwertiges Fell ersetzen.
Ich bin mit dem tiefen, kräftigen sound sehr zufrieden, es macht Spaß und happy mit dieser Kaufentscheidung!

Pro: Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in dieser Klasse
Contra: Die für mühsame Verstellung von Dorn auf Gummi bei den Standbeinen, bin ich aber vom Rest des Sets (leider) gewohnt ;-(

...für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung

Excellent mid-pricerange floor tom

This Yamaha fits very well bit my otherwise maple set very well, you almost can't tell the difference. With a bit of dampening on the upper head, and an Evans hydraulic head on the bottom, the drum can be tuned to a low rumble without making it sound too wet, or flappy.

I wouldn't buy this for every kit, but if your kit is in the price range of 1000-1500¤, this one should fit in nicely as an additional floor tom.
