Good starter bass

This is a very good quality bass for the money. It was packaged very well and delivered quickly.
If theres one thing that wasn't so good it was the setup - it came pretty much unplayable. Definitely factor in the price of a setup when buying this bass. Better strings also make the word of difference.
Having said all that, I am very happy with it. I have tried other similar priced instruments, and this feels a step above them. Once you get the above issues sorted, you have yourself a great bass.

Excellent double bass for the price

I'm very pleased with this bass. I bought it to learn double bass after years of playing bass guitar and haven't looked back! For the price, the finish is good, it plays well and sounds pretty good too. I haven't had it professionally set up - I fitted the bridge myself, following instructions - and so far everything's been great. Six months on, I've just done my first gigs with this bass and it performed beautifully.

Nous vivons dans une époque formidable. Pour avoir fait de la contrebasse il y a une 15aine d'années il était en ce temps impossible d'acquérir un instrument de cet acabit là sans déboursé trois fois la somme versée pour cette contrebasse.
Les finitions sont très bonnes, l'instrument tient l'accord, est agréable à joué et sonne bien dans une bonne partie de son registre.
Alors certes ce produit est loin d'être exempt de défauts comme les cordes qui sonnent très mal, la pique drôlement fichue, un peu de frise dans les bas sur la corde de mi (un passage chez le luthier devrait régler l'affaire).
Mais purée à ce prix là on a tout bonnement affaire à un vrai instrument, je l'ai depuis peu mais elle a déjà fait beaucoup de concerts et plus le temps passe plus elle sonne, elle prend de l'ampleur.

Enfin bref, merci Thomann d'avoir fabriqué cet instrument et de nous l'avoir rendu accessible grace à vos tarifs absolument incroyables.

Der Bass war ein Geschenk einer Freundin für Ihren Lebensgefährten. Dieser spielt leidenschaftlich E-Bass (git) und sein grösster Wunsch seit Jahren ein Kontrabass.

Das Instrument kann SEHR GUT VERPACKT per Spedition an meine Adresse, ich konnte die Neugierde kaum bändigen.

Die Überreichung hättet Ihr sehen müssen....

Der Bass war schon voreingestellt von Thomann, den Steg einsetzen (heisst das so?), stimmen und los gings.
Laut dem lieben Bassisten ein Genuß darauf zu spielen, den Klang hörte ich nur ohne Verstärker und da war er sehr schön. Durch die Einstellung von Thomann ist er kein "Fingerbrecher", er lässt sich leicht und weich greifen und easy zupfen.

Die Verarbeitung ist tadellos, keine Makel, nichts! Nicht das kleinste wo man sagen müsste "Naja, aber..."!

Ich kenne Kontra-Bässe von anderen Mitmusikern und ich denke mit diesem "Made in Europe" Bass ist man sehr gut bedient, gute Qualität zum nicht allzugroßen Preis. Sicher geht nach "oben" immer was, für Blues, Jazz, Rockabilly im semiprofessionellen Bereich scheint er mir sehr geeignet.

Die Beratung (per E-Mail) durch Thomman war sehr gut und wichtig, da ich sonst einen Kinderbass bestellt hätte. Der Bass wurde eingestellt und ein mitbestellter Tonabnehmer gleich montiert. Also super Service von den Mitarbeitern bei Thomann. Dafür noch ein großes DANKE!
