Great quality and value
Fantastic for the price. You can't go wrong with these.
Perfectly good quality and do what they're supposed to. I use about 10 of these cables (although half are the longer 3m ones, but same quality) on my setup and have never had any problem. Some are direct from controller to instrument, others are used on MIDI Thru boxes and/or with MIDI extension cables, and all work perfectly.
I had previously bought some cheap MIDI cables from elsewhere online (I won't say where but you can probably guess) and while they 'appeared' to be of reasonable and similar quality, I found that some instruments/synths' notes would get doubled or missed etc. Some very strange behaviour I'd never have thought could be down to the cable, but as soon as I swapped them out for Thomann's ones, I've not had a single issue.

Does what it's intended to do, for a fair price.
Great quality, been using it for about a year and still working perfectly although I'm always performing on the go.
The cable is still intact and no signs of wear appear on it.
Most of my MIDI gear is connected via USB except one, but if I had more MIDI gear that needed a 5-pin DIN MIDI cable, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again!

Boring and reliable
There's nothing particularly exciting or interesting about this MIDI cable, and that's the way it should be. I have been using several of these as part of a guitar pedal MIDI setup, and they have never missed a beat for me. The cable feels satisfyingly robust, and the moulded plastic heads are secure. The connectors feel solid and reliable, and the cables are sensibly priced.
I would recommend them, as they do their job without making a fuss.

MIDIocre
There's not much to say here, the cable does its job but the build quality is not exactly outstanding. I use it for standard purposes, either controlling other instruments with a master keyboard or sending MIDI to my DAW when recording.
A word of caution: check the length before you buy - this one's only 1m. In my case that's just right as it only needs to go from second to first tier on a keyboard stand.
