Great compression, boost, tone shaper

I have tried a lot of boost and drive pedals, and I like a nice compressed sound, but I have never had luck using compressors. After reading that Pete Townshend uses an MXR booster for end of song rave ups (his term), I thought, I need to try this. I love it- it is very versatile. You can use it as a relatively clean boost with mild compression or really get a clean sustain. Works well after a distortion (like the Apocalypse by DBA) to boost for solos or just for more sustain. I also have a Katana Clean boost running into the MXR. The two work well together - using either the MXR as a base tone then driving it a bit w the Katana for leads, or using the Katana as a base then boosting and compressing a bit for leads. Money well spent.

Super für funky Sounds

In den vergangenen Jahren wollte ich immer um ein Kompressor Pedal auf meinem Pedalboard herum kommen. Zum einen, um Platz zu sparen und den Signalweg gering zu halten aber auch weil ich dachte, so ein Pedal bringt mir zu wenig Mehrwert.

Nun habe ich allerdings ein neues Board konzipiert, das von mir insbesondere für Funk, Soul und Blues genutzt wird. Insbesondere für die funky Sounds war es Zeit umzudenken. Bei diversen Recherchen bei Youtube und Co. bin ich immer wieder auf das MXR M228 gestossen, wenn es um die Kompression für funky Sounds ging.

Letztendlich habe ich den Versuch gewagt und bin jetzt nicht nur für die Funk Nummern um einige Sound-Optionen reicher. Das Teil bietet genau die Kompression und die Soundbearbeitung, die ich mir im Zusammenspiel mit den Singlecoils meiner Strat und Tele häufiger gewünscht habe und mit anderen Pedalen nicht hinbekommen habe.

Zusätzlich bin ich aber auch um einige Erfahrungen reicher geworden, was der Kompressor auch bei einigen weniger cleanen Solo-Sounds verbessern kann. Da wird das Pedal eher zu einer Art Sustainer.

Was das teilweise beschriebene Rauschen bei anderen Kompressoren betrifft, kann ich das in meiner Signalkette für den M228 nicht bestätigen (Strat/Tele > CryBaby > M228 > TS808 > Ecstasy Red > HOF2 > VoxAC).

Von mir gibt es für das Teil eine klare Kaufempfehlung an Leute mit ähnlichen Bedürfnissen.

sature avec micro humbucker.. Dommage

Interessé par le Dyna comp mais en plus silencieux, et avec un potentiomètre Clean/Wet c'était la pédale idéale.

Malheureusement le son sature très légèrement dans la pedale, pas l'ampli, avec des micros doubles et p90, peu importe les réglages.
Je ne sais pas si c'est cet exemplaire qui ne va pas, mais je vais renvoyer la pedale.

Dommage car il est vraiment très silencieux et fonctionne a merveille avec mes pedales overdrive, rien a voir avec le bruit que génère mon CS3 meme modifié.

Et attention si vous recherchez la couleur typique du Dyna comp, celui ci est plus sage, un peu pls transparent, meme 100% Wet, moi ca ne me dérange pas car j'ai le CS3 pour la couleur, je suis bien servi ( le bruit aussi)

Cette saturation me derange a l'utilisation alors je renvoie la pedale, et vais me diriger vers autre chose.
Dernière chose, il n'y a pas de switch a l'intérieur de la pedale pour régler le gain ou quoi que ce soit d'autre.
Dommage, ce Dyna comp deluxe était prometteur

Sehr guter Kompressor

Ich wollte meine Pedale mal wieder etwas komplettieren und habe mich dazu an die guten alten MXR Effekte erinnert, die mir schon in den 80ern immer gute Dienste geleistet hatten.
In bester Erinnerung war mir der damalige MXR Kompressor geblieben. Deshalb freute ich mich mit dem M 228 eine noch variablere Version zu finden. Ein wirklich gutes Teil, das mich in jeder Hinsicht begeistert. Ob Tele oder Strat, ist dieses Gerät absolut zu empfehlen! Cleane, aber auch Lead-Sounds können davon ordentlich profitieren und der Attack-Schalter setzt dem Ganzen dann noch das Häubchen auf.
Klasse!
