Great rock snare

This snare has a really great sound and feeling, with the 32 strand snare wires you get at really fat sound. Only thing I am missing is die cast hoops for some extra crack in the sound. I will buy this later on when i have tried some more different heads. But after 7 months I am still very happy with the sound and the looks of the snare drum. The throw off is very sturdy and as with all Tama hardware - you know that you get quality that will hold up to road conditions. Kick ass product from TAMA once again!

One of the best snare drum for metal and rock

He is very heavy boy! Quality on the top! Shiny, loud and punchy. Black Nickel Starclassic hardware. I bought it as a second drum in my collection in addition to Starclassic Maple 14x5,5" to have wood and brass. Different rims, different snare wires, different sizes. Looks really beautiful and shiny.

amazing snare

great snare for metal looks good, sounds amazing really loud and punchy. the latch for the snare wire is convenient with the latch being able to be engaged easily stays in tune pretty well the only problem i have had is the wire buzzes a lot with the kick but that might just be a me problem with set up and not the drum its self.

Black Brass... der Sound wird mit Stahlhammer und Amboss geschmiedet!

Ich habe die Tama SLP Black Brass jetzt schon seit ein paar Monaten in Gebrauch. Die Verarbeitung und das Design ist wie erwartet top. Schlicht aber edel. Sound technisch hat sich bestätig, dass sie sehr laut und durchsetzungsfähig ist und gleichzeitig mehr Vielseitigkeit mitbringt als erwartet. Ich habe viele Stimmungen durchprobiert und konnte mich gar nicht entscheiden welche am besten klingt. Tendenziell klingt diese Snare für meinen Geschmack in der resonanten und flachen Zone am besten. Obwohl ich annfangs etwas Schwierigkeiten hatte das sehr dünne Resofell zu bändigen. Teppichansprache ist auch bei sehr hohen Stimmungen noch sehr filigran.

Wenn man weiß welchen Sound man haben will wird man hier keine bösen Überraschungen erleben. Diese Snare hält was sie verspricht, nicht mehr und nicht weniger!

Doch eine Sache hat mir nicht so gut gefallen. Die Felle waren vormontiert. Ich hätte die neuen Felle lieber selbst zentriert und stimmrein gemacht um die volle Kontrolle über die Soundentwicklung zu haben.
