Pauly P120 T-35 Ni

Hi all,
I made the decision Friday to purchase the Pauly pop filter after many months of gathering information about the product. I am a professional opera singer and record at home using UAD gear and Luna. For me the sound of the voice is most important. I compared the Pauly with the SE metal shield I have that costed around 25 euro and the original double layered pop filter that came with my Charteroak microphone. The difference was mind-blowing. It was like the vocal takes just came to life when I sang through the Pauly. The sound is very clear like there isn't a pop filter in front of the mic and I was standing 3 inches away from the mic. The pauly takes good care of the plosives. The SE filter works well on the plosives, however, when I sing the higher notes that comes also with a little more energy it is like the filter blocks the sound and it is recorded like all the life is gone and the voice is weakened - not with the Pauly. The voice remains like it originally is. I was blown away by the difference. The original pop filter that has 2 layers of fabric sounded overal dead and dark, but it does take care of the plosives. --- I could also see in the wave form that was recorded there was a big difference between the SE and Charteroak one and the Pauly. The old ones showed very inconsistent wave forms where the Pauly showed a very beautiful equal wave form. Also the dynamics are beautifully captured by the Pauly. I could hear every consonant without the enormous amount of SSS in it what the SE didn't do. All in all, 148 euro is money compared to the prices of other filters, however, for me as a vocalist it is 100% worth the money. It is really true that when you buy cheap stuff, you get cheap results. When you buy quality, you get quality. The PaulyTon is quality. Happy recording to all...
