Overview
I couldn't have asked for a better stand for my Mackie Onyx 1620 Series mixer. I was worried it might take up too much space in my small studio, or that it would not be very sturdy considering the price. But on all counts this has far exceeded my expectations.
My Experience
I have used this for my Mackie Onyx 1620i Series Mixer in a pretty tight space in my home studio. I was impressed with how snugly this product fit into place, taking up the minimum amount of space and allowing for other things to fit between and next to it.
The first thing I was impressed by was how easy it was to assemble. Most of the work had been done for me, which is helpful for people like me who aren't very patient or are useless at DIY. A quick feel and it seemed very strong.
The mixer popped straight on top and stayed firmly in place. Most importantly it also felt like it was taking the weight easily, and had the stand has the flexibility to increase the size to hold something bigger. Put simply if I upgrade to a bigger desk, I won't need to replace the stand. The same applies if I get a smaller one.
No modifications of the desk were needed, it was the stand equivalent to plug in and play once it is together.
Something that is important to me as well, is how it looks. Again it passes with flying colours. It looks professional and easy on the eye.
Pros:
- Easy to assemble.
- Sturdy.
- Fits snugly into small studios.
- Can be used for multiple size desks.
- Doesn't take up much more space than it needs to.
Cons: (For my needs there have been none).
- A bit of extra space or rack mounting option would be nice.
- Crossbars at rear limit space for putting things underneath. But still leave space for things to fit.
