Heel degelijk midi keyboard met veel opties voor een betaalbare prijs

Ik gebruik dit keyboard om instrumenten in te spelen en mijn DAW te bedienen. Het heeft basisinstellingen voor alle grote DAWS waardoor je niet alles handmatig hoeft in te stellen, Plug & Play dus. De belangrijkste reden dat ik voor deze heb gekozen is omdat het zo'n beetje de enige midi controller in deze prijsklasse is die gewogen toetsen en aftertouch heeft.

Product & software is good. Installation experience not

M-Audio is transitioning to inmusic. They seem to be in the middle of it. I had an old m-audio account but, password reset failed. Email never received, even though website confirmed email sent. Support tickets ended up at inmusic and, they kept sending me back to m-audio. M-Audio support ticket no response. I ended up creating a new email address and create a new account.

Some links in the documentation go to the inmusic website where you are presented with a blank web page.
All in all the installation took far too much time.
This was the exact reason why I had doubts going for M-Audio again. Their studio monitors were disappointing (imbalance soft volumes L R), the software issues I had with an axiom pro 61. But, after several midi controllers after the axiom, I really wanted the key bed of the Axiom back. The Oxygen Pro does not disappoint in that regard. Good keys.

Windows 11 support is in progress. Looking at past experiences with M-Audio software, this will probably take a long time to complete.
That said, so far no issues on Windows 11.

I'm using this controller with FL Studio.
With FPC easy to setup the pads for drums.
Getting pitch bend and modulation to work with VST's, not so easy. But, that seems more of an FL Studio thing, not oxygen pro's

I would've bought the FL Keys 32 if it would be available in 49. I guess this oxygen pro 49 is the next best thing (and not tight to a specific DAW).

Possibly the best budget controller!

Comes with interesting plugins (I love Velvet and Hybrid). Unfortunately, not yet prepared for full integration with Luna DAW (Universal Audio). Further, decent quality drumpads and sliders. Keys’ response to velocity is fine, would be nice to have them semi-weighted!

Good, not great because...

After almost 2 years of using, although not on a daily basis, it's about time for a review.

Good:
- Nice keybed, nice pads, with adjustable sensitivity.
- A 5 DIN MIDI-out, so you can use the Pro 49 for controlling other MIDI-gear (I use it for my Minilogue, which has smaller en fewer keys), without a DAW.
- The software editor that enables you to programm all controllers (thus which CC they send), which can be handy for controlling other MIDI gear that lacks knobs, but...

Not so good (but this applies to 99% of all controller keyboards):
- No endless knobs. Why are there so many controllers without endless knobs? I've ordered the AKAI MPD 226 júst for its endless encoders (review following shortly - or well, within 2 years). If my Pro 49 had them I'd be sorted for the rest of my life.

I've only used my Pro 49 with MPC Beats, which required some mapping (the factory preset in MPC Beats didn't work, and this was not caused by the Pro 49), so I can't commend yet on it's compatibility/use with other DAWs.

Thanks to Thomann, again, for the great service: my Pro 49 came with a malfuctioning fader. All was solved.
