Korg D1 WH

It's a fairly simple keyboard, but it does the things that matter really well. The keybed feels sturdy and is great to play, allowing for lots of expressiveness. The quality of the sound banks is high and there's a nice variety of different sounds. The connectivity is simple, but enough for recording and music production through MIDI.

A few cons I've encountered after about a year of playing:
- The included sustain pedal isn't great -- it doesn't allow for half-pedaling and the feel is pretty lackluster. Get the DS1-H pedal for this one, the difference is night and day.
- I've managed to hit the polyphony limit a few times now when playing fast notes around the keyboard, which leads to some notes abruptly dropping out -- especially when effects and layering sounds increase the amount of concurrent notes. It's not really an issue with reasonable pedaling though.
- The "brilliance"-setting's default value is 2 out of 3, meaning the sound always has a slight low-pass filter on it when you boot up the keyboard. It's not a hassle to change the value when you start playing, but it'd be nice to be able to change the default values.
- The amount of built-in time signatures for the metronome is quite limited and restricted to a single subdivision (2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/4) -- obviously mobile apps and such can fill in the gaps, but more options would always be welcome.
- The metronome's tempo can't be adjusted with the physical dial, which is a little cumbersome when going from 60 to 144, for example.

These are all minor grievances though, and all in all I'm very happy with my purchase.

Die Tochter hat nach einem tragbaren Klavier gesucht. Ein akustisch-mechanisches haben wir zu Hause, dort hat sie auch das Klavierspiel erlernt, nur lässt sich das Teil halt schlecht auf den Geburtstag der Oma oder die Hochzeit vom Onkel mitnehmen.
Nach einem weitern Auftritt mit einem eher mäßigen Keyboard, dass nur 63 Tasten hatte, stand der Etnschluss also fest: ein Stagepiano muss her.
Das erste Aufschlauen hat die Tochter dann bei allen möglichen Bekannten, Freunden etc. gemacht, um zu erfahren, worauf spielt ihr denn so Klavier und hatte dann, als wir im Musikhaus standen auch recht genaue Vorstellungen davon, wie sich die Klaviatur greifen lassen muss. Noch viel wichtiger war ihr jedoch das Geräusch der Tasten. Nach etlichem ausprobieren, sind dann also div. Kandidaten ausgeschieden. Yamaha und Casio wegen der Tasten selbst. Die sind am Rand wohl nicht so schön gerundet.
Kawaii ist wegen des Anschlagsgeräusches raus gewesen, bei Roland waren die günstigen, also in etwa die gleiche Preisklasse, wegen zu leichter Tasten raus.
Blieb im Endeffekt nur noch das D1 übrig. Pluspunkte tolle, gewichtete Tastatur mit einem angenehmen Gewicht und Anschlagdynamik der Tasten. Und wenn man daneben steht, es ist fast nicht zu hören!
Die Farbe weiß habt dieses Stagepiano einfach sehr angenehm aus der Masse der anderen, schwarzen Vertreter der Gattung heraus. Dazu kommt noch ein stabiles Gehäuse und kompakte Abmessungen die ihres gleiche Suchen. Entsprechend sind dann die Gesamtfunktionen reduziert, wenn der Fokus aber auf einem mobilen Klavier mit realistischem Spielgefühl und schönem Klavierklang liegt, ist das genau das Instrument.
Kleiner Abzug in der Verarbeitung, weil wir eine kleine Verarbeituungsschwäche auf der Gehäuserückseite haben. Da hat sich der Kundendienst von Thomann aber schnell drum gekümmert.
