Great pedal
I bought this pedal together with the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe (BOD), and ended up choosing the Octamizer. I will explain why.
The Octamizer is a very sturdy and pretty heavy pedal. It has its in/out connectors and its power inlet on the top and is finished in a fire truck red. It has four knobs; two for the level and tone of the dry bass signal, and two for the level and tone of the octaved signal. This gives you a wide palet of sounds, from a smooth, sub bass sound, to a very aggressive synth tone. It holds its octave down to the low A on the E string.
I like the sound of the Octamizer and the BOD both, with maybe even a slight edge to the BOD for versatility.
But where the Octamizer won if for me was in the tracking. In the lower registers both pedals track equally great, but in the higher registers the BOD had some tracking issues. The Octamizer does not have any issues anywhere on the neck (above the low A), and even with fast runs, it doesn't lose the octave for a second. Great octave pedal, do recommend.
