Nach Yamaha und Focusrite bei Apogee gelandet - und nicht bereut. Mir ging es um Loopback am Mac, das wird gelöst mit Apogee Control2 ("Assign to SW Inputs"). Der ESC Channel Strip (built-in) ist Klasse. Die Integration mit Logic Pro ("Audio Device Controls" im Mixer) ) geht über Apples Audio-MIDI-Setup nicht hinaus. Interessant die Begründung des sehr guten (!) Supports; mehr (wie bei Symphony) wäre sehr viel teurer und würde das BOOM-Einsteiger-Budget sprengen:

While the Logic Device Control feature seems like a simple API connection, underneath its far more complicated.
Currently, the device control only shows an input gain control. This is part of CoreAudio and is the same input level slider you will find in Audio MIDI Setup utility. This slider and the gain knob in Logic are the exact same control. This will show up for any interface that has a digital input level control.
The other portions of Device Control like 48v phantom power button, polarity invert, etc. are brought in a different way through something called the HAL layer. The portions of HAL related to this have been deprecated and so are no longer available. That's why Boom does not have more functions available in Device Control.
The reason Element or Ensemble Thunderbolt still have these features is because of our custom KEXT thunderbolt driver which enables sort of a back way to get HAL working. But USB devices use an Apple coreaudio driver so they do not have this back way available to them.
This is a simplified explanation and there's more details and nuance, but for the purposes of your question this is the basic reason why Boom doesn't have more extensive Logic Device Control functions.
Your last question about more plugins working on Boom's built-in DSP: currently only ECS Channel Strip works on Boom's built in DSP and it's a Print-Mode only function. Much more DSP processing and capabilities would be needed for more plugins to work and for the Monitor-Mode function like you see on Symphony Desktop, which would have increased the price of Boom. Keeping the price of Boom low as it is an entry-level device is important and so that's why."
