Having read the 5 Star Bondedo review, I took the risk on this new package from Berlin. What a delight! The Inspire Mic is wonderful and sounds so clean, crisp and solid. I didn’t think the ability to switch between Transformer and Fet would be as useful as it is, but it really can make a difference depending on what or who I’m recording. The Transformer mode is not a fake vintage vibe, it just adds solidity and focus if needed, kinda hard to explain but I found it easier to mix things than piling on some compression. On the other side, the Fet mode is great for percussive instruments and higher voices. The shockmount and filter is a delight to use and the overall package is excellent value compared to other “European” branded mics. I have a number of mics in my collection, but this is by far the most versatile. When funds allow, I will add another to my collection for stereo. Well done Aim Audio!
