Can be tuned up and down without issues in sound, it is resonant, non buzzing, can be played with hand. The hights are not crisp, it can't replace a tar or other arabic style framedrums perfectly, but it is great for the medieval, or more subtle sounds.

I have bought several of these in various sizes. I've been happy with them all and I recommend them to others. Even the bigger ones are light in weight so easy to hold. And even the 14" has a good base sound for it's size. Not top quality but never found a fault in manufacture.
