I have a few guitars and basses and all of them have these fitted as standard. Been using them for years. Personally, I have a preference for the Dunlops over the Schaller variety in that while they're just as secure, the removal of the strap from the guitar is just simpler with the Dunlops.

Don't want to see your guitar coming off the strap? Then buy Straploks.

Excellent strap-locks. I have them on all my guitars, so I keep one strap for all guitars. I didn't noticed anything wrong on the parts, it just doesn't unlock! Maybe the grease inside gets old and sticky and the small balls of the mechanism don't move any longer.
