Not suitable for all purposes!
N. Ruppert, 25.12.2017
I've been looking for a low-cost backup solution for my Sennheiser EW172 radio link, as the receiver is built into a rack along with an antenna splitter, a DAC, a compressor, a drawer for some pedals, and a Yamaha TIO stagebox for quick deployment, and me do not always want to lug the rack for smaller jobs.

The radio link is used on my electric guitars (mainly Jackson Pro Soloist and Fender Mexico Classic 50s).

After some research I noticed that still relative new FreeU system of t.bone and waved with True Diversity UHF. Since I already had good experiences with t.bone (especially with the in-ear monitor systems), I decided to test the PT 600 variant.

After the postman handed me the package smiling, I had to unpack it right away.
The whole thing comes in a filled with foam cardboard, which already makes a long-lasting impression! It can therefore also be used for transport.

If you fumble now the receiver from the plastic bag you hold a solid Klotz sheet in his hand. The metal housing makes a great impression. Also the front feels well finished, only the buttons are a bit cheap and let's guess the price. The volume control is in my opinion superfluous, since the radio link will run 95% on a mixer. However, I would not use it for stand-alone operation due to lack of equalization and feedback susceptibility (should it be used with a headset).
The antennas are also well processed and the BNC connectors hold tight.

In the box is also a power supply and brackets for rack mounting (no longer of course nowadays!)

The bodypack, on the other hand, is a disillusionment. It's light, you have to say, but the plastic case is absolutely cheap and does not make a good impression! The battery door is also not convincing and always opens without warning. The batteries will not fall out because they have to be pressed into the compartment with such force that the case begins to crack. The simple plastic clip does not last very well either.
The volume control on the top is ABSOLUTELY UNNOUNTED and not particularly robust. If something like this has to be installed, then please use the snap-in function at 100% or retractable to avoid accidental adjustment!
The buttons under the battery flap must also be operated with a pointed object (why then under the flap?!) And are only for frequency selection! That is also the biggest criticism:

There is no way to make the gain setting on the bodypack transmitter !!!
Here was saved at the wrong end. The preamps in the bodypack transmitter are just bad, here are much better products, even from t.bone itself. It is a constant rush to perceive. To cover this up, the signal is lowered during pauses (similar to a gate), which in part leads to an effect that it occurs as if it were signal aborts, but this is not the case. For radio links often called "Squelch".
As soon as you start to play a quiet passage on the guitar, the noise of the guitar drowns out and the gate cuts very soft notes.

The first suspicion fell to the Gaineinstellung, but I had to say, as already mentioned, that this fix is, or hidden so that it is definitely not tour-worthy. Although there is an input sensitivity setting in the receiver, nowhere is it described what it does and does not change anything. The squelch setting is also automatic and can not be adjusted, too bad!
Then I thought that my active Jackson electric guitar was the problem: But even my Gibson studio rushes without end!

But if you pin a distortion pedal behind the receiver, the blade turns. The distortion takes the noise now less or not true and you can dry properly.
And also run around properly, because reach the system has no question. I have not been able to irritate the range.

OK, one more time:
Per:
- Robust receiver
- Removable antennas
- Very good range
- Rackable

Cons:
- Cheap bodypack transmitter
- too few Einstellugsmöglichkeiten
- Superfluous volume controls
- strong noise (bad preamp)
- Car Squelch

Conclusion:
For those who are looking for a low priced system to get away from the cable, it is very useful and thanks to AKG's standard TQS plugs it is also versatile. (Headset, lavalier, etc.)
Especially for guitarists and bassists who like to work with distortion for the price almost recommendable.
But especially with the bodypack transmitter should be worked more robust! Better a cheap case at the receiver and a sturdy compact case transmitter! And here either a retractable or latching volume control.
-------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------
I am now stuck with the TG-100 system of Beyerdynamic, perhaps this should also take Thomann as a source of inspiration. A simple Vhf system without much frills instead of UHF and Robust bodypack transmitter with good preamplifiers.

UHF wireless system
Quentin H. 17, 12.02.2018
For the price this is very correct!
Negative points :
-The transmitter box "belt" is very light! Entirely made of plastic, it looks fragile!
- The locations to deport antennas are very badly placed!
(on the brackets to rack the receiver)
With Neutrik bases, we can no longer rack the receiver !!!!

Good points :
- Easy to use
- Transmit power adjustable on 4 levels
- Sender / receiver synchronization
- Automatic scan
