The standard for jazz saxophonists
Marc aus J., 28.10.2009
This book is recommended for those who are starting from scratch to learn an instrument. In addition to a brief introduction to the notes reading, there are detailed and illustrated descriptions of the body, the attitude of the instrument and the tone generation.

The enclosed audio CD offers from the beginning a very authentic and grooving accompaniment, which also make the first attempts to go for real music. The improvisation is also very early. In the course of the school, there are always small chapters on scales, auditory education, introductory harmonies, phrasing, rhythm, etc., which extend the understanding of music and improvisation.

In my view, the jumps occurring at the end of the pieces are disadvantageous. Especially at the beginning, the pieces build very well on one another without which one feels overwhelmed. In the end you can bite your teeth. There would have been a few "links" very helpful.

Nevertheless, it is a lot of fun to learn with this school until the end, and if you have disciplined and accompanied by a teacher, you should have a solid basic technique and the introduction into further literature is not difficult.
