A self-contained instrument.

The Cr4 is exactly what I was looking for: not a copy of an acoustic cello, but an independent instrument.

The PickUp has three settings to choose from: Acoustic, Linear and Pizzicato. Behind "Acoustic" is an EQ'ter principle, which is to mimic the bassy-high-pitched tone of an acoustic instrument - with some reverb this is also quite possible.

My favorite is, however, the "linear" setting, which represents the punchy-present basic sound of the Cr4. The frequency response, which is linear in comparison to the acoustic model, is excellent for processing through guitar effects and amplifiers.
Every cellist, who has ever held an e-gitare in his hand, will immediately love the enormous dynamics capture. It is a joy, a sigh, and a song. The pizzicato setting is, after all, the meaningful supplement, and in fact, in its tone of voice, the pizz.

I play my Cr4 mostly while standing, with the shoulder strap of NS design. A new dimension as a former seatcellist.
Processing is 100%, the playability due to the lack of body handicaps of a normal cello just in the situations incredible.

Oh, in the 5th position a brass button on the back of the neck marks the thumb support for the gripping hand ;-)

Many strikes
ecello.de, 10.06.2010
The cello / e-cello conceptions, which have been known so far, are being replaced by the NS design cello. It is lightweight, compact and can be mounted in different ways using a spiked system, a boomerang belt or a strap system. This makes it possible to play between the knees, as a guitar, or as a cello for playing while standing. In comparison to other celli and e-celli, the change of position requires a lot of practice since there is no saddle. The bowing with the 4.5 or 6 Saiters requires little force for the formation of sound. Vibrato and bow nuances speak easily and for an e-cello particularly versatile.Very remarkable: except volume control, treble and bass control, there is a special NS invention: the conversion of the pickup by means of switch for Arco / Pizz in cello classical tone, for Arco / Pizz in modulated electrical nuance and the special setting for Piz: the feel like a guitar with a longer sustain. All switch positions in turn can be explored at the back of the cello with trim potentiometers in their sensitivity.
Due to the fact that the special pizz mode decreases the vibrations of the side in the vertical direction at the bridge, the resulting signals can be modulated better with electronic and effects devices (distortion, octaver, fuzz, ... and so on) Celli can expect. (There are also some compromises, see below).

There are also some drawbacks to other E Celli: Due to the fact that there are 3 switch modes (2 Arco / 1 Pizz) and each one works perfectly, one can not use a classic cello playing a trio with violins because of the various pickup functions In completion.
