Perfect combo for my original 60s strat

Very well balanced pickups, way much more accurate 60s sounding than the stock ones. Higher output and sweet sounding. The neck pickup is awesome for overdrive tones and mellow cleans, the bridge is very screamy and I like how the middle one (never been a friend of it) deals with gain and clean tones.
Both combined positions sound very nice for my taste, so if you are looking for a nice 60s upgrade for your strat….. these are the ones.
Very well made, and they fit in the mint fender pickup covers!!

Perfect quality, well balanced over all strings. More bright than you might expect and want. Just be aware of it. Great on strat into british kind of amp like Hiwatt or Marshall or a tweed. Too bright for me in combination with blackface amps.

Full tone, glassy and sparkling

I modded my Player I Strat and, in the process, planned to replace its default Alnico 5 SSS pickups, but I wasn't sure which set to buy. After an extensive search online, I focused on Lollars' offerings, as I understood they represent a space for high-quality vintage, "era-correct" upgrades from my original set, in my pursuit to elevate the guitar closer to a "master built" sound. I have no clue if I really achieved this goal, but I can testify that for sure, the guitar sounds like a whole new level of Strat to my ears. There are different pickup combinations on the Lollar website that one should spend some time researching, as they each focus on different tones. The 64s are certainly a great set, and I recommend it.

Traumset für die 60s Strat

Ich habe eine Fender 62 Reissue Strat gebraucht erstanden. Der Vorbesitzer hat diese mit Fender CS 54s ausgestattet. Diese waren mir etwas zu grell und "kantig". Ich hab das Gefühl gehabt damit vor allem im Overdrive keinen wirklich angenehmen Ton zu bekommen.
In einer anderen Gitarre habe ich bereits Lollar PUs und wenn man nach dem Blackface Set, oder anderen Strat Sets, googell, fällt bei Lollar eins auf. Es wird nie etwas schlechtes darüber berichtet.
Bei anderen Herstellern gibt es immer Fans und Haters aber bei Lollar finde ich keine negativen Kritiken. Deswegen habe ich beim Blackface Set zugeschlagen, da es von den Daten auch gut zur 62er Strat passt.

Ich bin nicht entäuscht! Die Gitarre klingt im Vergleich zu vorher wie abgestaubt und aufgepustet. Die PUs harmonieren wunderbar mit Overdrive oder Fuzz und sind sehr dynamisch. Ich bin kein Fan von den ganzen Adjektiven und ein Sound ist immer schwierig zu beschreiben. Am besten trifft es für mich der Begriff Ausgeglichenheit. Die PUs sind in jeder Lebenslage souverän.

Ich denke mit dem Set kann man nichts falsch machen. Der wunsch weiterzuschauen um vielleicht noch was bessere/passenderes zu finden ist bei mir jeweils nicht vorhanden.

Eine Anmerkung, die vielleicht den Vintage Nerd interessiert: Entgegen aller vintage style Strat PUs die ich kenne sind die Spulen abgedeckt. Dort ist also eine Art Gewebeband herum und man kann nicht den Spuelendraht sehen. Ich wüsste nicht was das für negative Auswirkungen haben könnte aber wer es auch "unter der Haube" historisch korrekt haben möchte, sollte das wissen.
