disappointment

I don't have much noise problems. I have humbuckers and a shielded guitar. The only problems are when using ST9+Pro in a Fat Rat stack, or ST9+Pro in the red channel of my 5150 III. In other cases, when using a clean channel, or separately overdrive and distortion, there is no noise as such.
I connect this pedal and after turning on there is a significant noise, even without the included drive pedals. In a bunch of ST9 + pro and a fat rat, the feeling that the noise becomes many times greater. You try to get rid of the noise and turn the knob, but the value at which the noise ceases to be heard, or at least at an acceptable level, already kills all the dynamics, tone, sustain, and it simply becomes unplayable. Yes, I use the 4 cable method with the FX loop of my amp.
As for the boost, it sounds very good, but how to use it is a question - when it is turned on, the noise level increases exponentially.
The only use of this pedal is in a clean channel with forming distortion in front of the amp.
Perhaps the best use of this pedal is to nail it into the wall, still beautiful.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but the built-in noise gate on my second amp (EVH 5150 ICONIC) works better....

The finest foundation for your sound available
Defiance 26.10.2023
Every guitar player needs to keep unwanted noise out of their signal chain. Look no further than KMA Audio Machines Pylon noise gate. Not only does it tame gnarly hiss from your amp (using a 2, 3, or 4 cable method), it can be used to switch channels on your amp from clean, to mean. Maybe you want to unleash the beast? It can do that too, with its available +30db boost function. Do you need to tighten up that bottom end? Go for it! Never before has there been a more feature rich gate/FX loop/boost pedal. Plus, the artwork is stunning. You might stare at it in awe. The Pylon is the foundation you need for everything you will build.

Not a true gate
Deanon 30.07.2023
It does not cut the signal entirely and has somewhat strange attack/decay values, and threshold setting must be very precise. If you need a real gate function, look for alternatives

Probably my favorite gate of all time
Killstring 31.03.2025
boost is just okay, low cut has a broader range than I typically want.

That's it. Those are my criticisms.

Past that, this thing is an excellent gate that I put on par with the Fortin Zuul, plus it has additional utility functions. Looks cool, makes playing high-gain near a computer monitor bearable, and can be dialed in with no real issues. Plus, you can slam the front of your amp while cutting lows - I wouldn't want to play an 8-string without one, haha.

Excellent gate.
