Fulltone 69 MKII Pedal

Effect PedalWhen you talk about the classic fuzz, you probably mean the sound of the legendary fuzzface in most cases. Used with a clean amp, this pedal produces a quite nice distortion (due to the germanium transistors it is never as annoying as various other distortion pedals). However using it with a already distorted sound, it really shines like the sun. This is the sound you know and love from Jimi Hendrix, the early David Gilmour and Eric Johnson.

The Fulltone 69 Mk II delivers exactly this sound with Fulltone-typical quality and reliability. There are also extras such as the input knob (e.g. prevents the pedal from gain pumping because of too powerful pickup signals) and a bias trimmer, influencing the sound, which are welcome features.

  • 2 Hand-selected NKT-275 germanium transistors
  • Knobs for volume, fuzz, input, contour
  • Internal bias trimmer
  • True bypass
  • Handwired in USA

The fuzz is not for me though? !!!!

Gaël, 04.07.2012
I'm a fan of hendrix but I can not manage to sound fuzz ... I prefer to push an overdrive in its entrenchments. Also the pedal on the little test I was able to do is very solid the sound is good the knobs are easy to use. You must love this type of sound too typical for my taste. Only drawback is the power supply not provided and especially the fact of having a cable with reverse polarity (when we know we are like a C ...) But fulltone made sacred pedal for on ...

After learning curve practically perfect

Frank646, 28.05.2017
Fuzz pedals are not easy to use and require some patience to adjust and also much playing technique to dampen the strings otherwise there is easy sound mash.

First of all, I was disappointed by Fulltone 69. It sounded kinda like a slipper overdrive. I was at least four times on it and the turn back the device again.

In a clean Fender-Twin it does not sound so exciting. After some trial, I have the pedal but then closed to the heart. Here are a few tips:
1) Use amplifiers with strong mids, no mid-scooped, clean amplifiers like the fender. With me, the Marshall has done - great! For amateur amps maybe an additional midboost?
2) Read the operating instructions and stick to the recommended settings! This also makes a big difference. So fuzz full on, volume as it pleases and adjust input and contour. For my single coils input is at about 14 o'clock (after that it starts then pretty much to rushing) and Contour at about 9 o'clock. This gives a beautifully singing tone with an endless sustain on the high strings - Eric Johnson, David Gilmour leave greetings. On the bass strings, Powerchords sound powerful crunching without too mud. Then adjust the gain with the guitar volume. As described in the manual, the pedal responds magnificently
3) The internal tripm poti - I put it on about 13-14. This also makes a difference and has improved the sound again (direction "smooth", I wanted to have so synonymous
4) The pedal sounds better before a crunchy or even distorting amplifier than before a clean set.
5) If it gets too much with the bass at single notes (fuzz-typical it gets a bit "flabby") - if you pedal into the fuzz with a tube-like pedal, it clears the bass and everything becomes even more creamy. For me, this is a Mad Professor little green wonder. A great combo! However, one should then then the volume regulator of the guitar then relatively far back, otherwise it becomes easy something much of the good.
6) The pedal needs a differently polarized power cable (what should it be? It would be easy to make internal the input). This is a bit annoying and should be taken into consideration (buy adapter or cable, no daisy chain with other pedals!) Therefore, a point deduction.

After all this was understood, I did not want to spend the whole day with Cliffs of Dover or Comfortably Numb (Tip: Catalinbread Belle Epoch!).
