After getting the 1974 I fell in love with the drawmer collection. This thing sounds amazing, even a 1dB boost widens and enhances your mix unlike a plug-in would. I purchased the 1976 and 1978 afterwards and I can't imagine mixing without them now. Would recommend!

Den Drawmer 1974 habe ich angeschafft für die Verwendung im Studio als erste Stufe in der analogen Masteringkette nach der Mischung im analogen Summierer, um nur noch die gewünschten Frequenzen in der weiteren Bearbeitung zu haben (Kompression, Multibandkompression, Vitalising, Limiter). Für diesen Zweck ist der Drawmer 1974 perfekt geeignet, man braucht keine für die beiden Kanäle getrennten Regler, wie das bei vielen Produkten in dieser Liga der Fall ist (SPL, Manley etc.), entsprechend kostet und umständlicher in der Handhabung ist. Die beiden Shelf-Filter low und high machen schon einen Großteil dieser Arbeit, und die verbleibenden vier Bänder bieten mehr als genug Spielraum, um alle gewünschten Einstellungen vornehmen zu können. Die Bandbreitenregelung bzw. die schaltbare Flankensteilheit schaffen enorme Flexibilität, wenn man extreme Änderungen vornehmen will, was i.Ü. ohnehin besser in den Einzelspuren aufgehoben ist. Die Audioqualität und die Wirksamkeit der Filterstufen sind über jeden Zweifel erhaben und brauchen auch den Vergleich mit wesentlichen teureren Entzerrern (s.o.) nicht zu scheuen. Diese habe ich größtenteils getestet und teilweise auch in Besitz. Der Drawmer ist für meine Anwendung die erste Wahl. Auch Optik, Handhabung und Abmessungen spielen eine Rolle und sind mit den gegebenen gerasterten Potis, deren Aussehen, Größe und Anordnung auf der einen HE optimal gelöst. Für die finale Entzerrung an Ende der analogen Zweispurkette ist das Gerät genauso gut geeignet, das habe ich auch getestet, aber mich für die Verwendung am Anfang entschieden, weil das m.E. für die anschließenden Kompressionsschritte usw. praktisch in allen Produktionen von Vorteil ist. Hier denke ich noch über Hinzunahme eines entsprechenden Routers nach, den es inzwischen u. a. von SPL und auch von der Tegeler Audiomanufaktur gibt und der das Ganze noch flexibler macht. Wirklichen Bedarf sehe ich dazu aber derzeit nicht.
Fazit: Für diesen Zweck optimal, preislich in einem sehr moderaten Rahmen ist der Drawmer 1974 für alle, die ein Gerät für diesen Anwendungsfall suchen, eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung.

Der beste parametrische EQ bis 1000.- CHF/Eur. Professioneller, satter Sound. Nachteil: Output Gain fehlt. Aber ich kann damit leben. Empfehle.
