Best looper out there

I honestly believe that this is one of the best loopers in the market. It has everything someone would need and many more.
Pros: amazing quality, amazing sound, a lot of different drum loops, endless features
Cons: price, kinda complicated (you need some time to get used to the many features)

Nice Looper

I have been using Digitech Jammans for a few years. It?s really nice to have the drum machine. The patterns are really good and the sound of the kits are excellent. It takes a bit of practice to switch between parts A and B, but this is true of all loopers. The rhythm converter software tool for midi patterns is a bit basic and could do with some more functionality. It also takes a bit of trial and error to get the right volume level for imported wave files so that the recorded guitar sits at the right level in the mix. A tap tempo function would also be useful but you can do this with and external CTL Switch. All in all a big step up from the jammans but not as good in terms of functionality as the RC 300, but then again it fits in your pocket.

Great update to RC3

If you enjoyed RC3, RC10R will be a major update. The sound quality - as expected - is very good (major improvement) and the possibility of actually having a more complex (well ;-) composition on 1 device is something I was looking for. So far, the thing I don't like is actually the shape of the pedal. Since It's tilted, the buttons are angled. It makes it more difficult to precisily operate it with a foot. Or maybe my feet are to big ;-)

Schade Boss...ich hatte mehr erwartet

So schreibe auch ich mal wieder eine Bewertung - das Erste wie ich gerade gesehen habe. Ich habe wirklich lange auf dieses Pedal gewartet, hatte hohe Erwartungen. Kommen sollte es bereits Anfang August. Gekommen ist es Ende Oktober und ich bin - um ehrlich zu sein - etwas enttäuscht.
Ich habe früher sehr gern das Boss RC3 genutzt um zu üben. Patterns, Grooves, simples rumspielen.
Es gibt leider ein paar Dinge, die mich wirklich davon abhalten hier mit dem RC10 kreativ zu werden:

1. Wenn man im nicht synchronisierten Modus einen Groove in den Looper einspielt und nachträglich den Rythm-Part dazu schaltet, wird der Beat nicht synchronisiert. Ich verstehe nicht, warum das bei den alten bzw. kleineren Geräten funktioniert, beim RC10 aber nicht. Man ist auf die voreingestellte BPM fixiert. Wenn ich einen Rythmus im Kopf habe, will ich nicht jedesmal vorher ein Tap-Metronom verwenden, um herauszufinden, wie schnell meine Idee ist.
2. Wenn ich einen Loop einspiele, wird an jedem Pattern-Ende ein kleines Fill gesetzt. Das ist anfangs ganz nett. Wenn man allerdings kurze Grooves, zB Power-Akkordfolgen zum Skalenüben einspielt nervt das auf Dauer wirklich. Ich habe keine Möglichkeit gefunden das abzustellen.
3. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit, die Drumsets zu mischen. Ich vermisse eine wirklich gute Bassdrum, die ich im Hip-Hop-Set z.B. bekomme. Man kann leider nicht die Bass-Drum der Hip-Hop-Genres mit dem restlichen Drumset anderer Genres kombinieren. Das ist zu verschmerzen, sollte man aber wissen.
4. Kein AUX-In. Warum Boss? Bei meinem kleinen RC3 gibt es den. Du möchtest auf einen Backing-Track vom Handy oder Tablet spielen? Mit dem RC10 leider nicht ohne Umwege machbar. Der Umweg ist nur über den zweiten Input zu gehen. Dann nehme ich mir den RC10 aber aus meinem Stereo-Setup.
5. Die Ctr1+2 / Exp-Buchse ist nicht für beide Funktionen gleichzeitig nutzbar. Bei einem Gerät mit diesem Umfang sollte ich die Möglichkeit haben, beide Funktionen gleichzeitig zu nutzen. In den Einstellungen muss man sich aber für eines entscheiden.

Positiv anzumerken ist:
1. der wirklich gute Sound der Drum-Beats, egal in welchem Genre. Es macht Spaß die Beats und Fills zu nutzen. Besser als jedes Metronom und jeder Klick-Beat.
2. Split-Funktion für Looper und Rythm-Part. Die Gitarre durch den Verstärker senden und den Rythmus in die PC-Boxen geht wunderbar.
3. Größe: Von der Größe war ich überrascht. Das RC10 ist wirklich klein und passt auf jedes Board. Trotzdem ist es gut zu bedienen.
4. Am meisten Sorgen habe ich mir um die Disply-Helligkeit gemacht. Dieses ist aber wirklich hell und gut lesbar. Auch die Pattern-Lights sind gut erkennbar. Einzig die Trk-Anzeigen in den Kreisen sind im stehen etwas schwer zu erkennen, da sehr klein. Da es aber nur zwei Patterns gibt, ist das auch über das Gedächtnis zu regeln.

Ich weiß nicht, ob alle Funktionsprobleme über Firmware-Updates zu regeln sind. Die fehlende Aux-Buchse ist jedenfalls eine Entscheidung die ich nicht verstehen kann. Ich werde den Looper wohl zurücksenden, da für 299€ dann doch die Preis/Leistung für mich nicht stimmt.
