Nämä Roden valmistamat mikrofonit ovat hintaansa nähden ensiluokkaiset. Äänen laatu erinomainen. Sopii oikein hyvin stereoäänityksiin monissa eri tilanteissa, varsinkin studiossa. Myös mono-äänitys esim. yksittäisillä soittimilla hyvä. Kivan pienen kokoiset.

Suuntakuvion ollessa hertta mikrofoni taltioi äänen juuri siitä suunnasta minne se osoittaakin. Tämä on erityisen hyvä juttu kun äänilähteitä on useampia, kuten esimerkiksi rumpusetti, jolloin stereokuva äänitteessä on realistinen. Suuntakuvio on kuitenkin vaihdettavissa erikseen ostettavissa olevilla kapseleilla jotka voi pyörittää kierteen avulla helposti paikoilleen, jolloin mikrofoneista tulee entistäkin monipuolisemmat.

Mukana tuleva muovinen kova laukku on oivallinen säilytyslaatikko, sekä myös roudatessa kestävä ja kevyt kantaa. Tuulisuojukset ovat hiukan ohuet mutta ajavat asiansa siedettävissä olosuhteissa esim. ulkona. Mikrofonien kiinnikkeet ovat kestävät ja jämäkät, pysyvät hyvin paikoillaan ja kierteetkin niissä ovat ensiluokkaista laatua jotka eivät hajoa helposti.

Roden antama 10 vuoden takuu näille mikrofoneille antaa ostajalle paljon luottamusta.

First I must say that the box these come in is very handy and sturdy, and helps to keep the pair safe very well from dust and damage. However, the sound you get is so very bright that without any post-processing your mix is bound to be very top-heavy. They pick up the attack of the symbal very, very clearly, and while it brings an ethereal quality in softer songs, if placed to close or if your room resonates badly the end result may be quite harsh. On the other hand, it is impossible to sound muddy when using these, and when compressing heavily the attacks are still able to come through. It is still a bit much for my taste, but for their price they are excellent symbal-microphones, even in live situations, when you can mix them quietly in the PA. But, for any other purpose, for example acoustic guitars or choir vocals which often utilize the same mics as drum overheads, these do not fit.

Stereo pair of a great value

I've used these for recording grand piano in a live situation. The sound is superb for a pair of this price.

They come in a ok-ish plastic briefcase, tough as a lover of portable things and easy travel, I'd say the case could have been much more compact. I also would have liked to see pouches for the mics for safer transportation outside the case.

I haven't tried the omni heads but I love the fact that they are changeable.

When arrived, both mics had some moisture and/or fat on their surfaces, but it was easily fixed by wiping them clean with a towel.

The feeling on the clips is a bit on the lighter side, but I guess they'll not fall apart in the near future.

I haven't used the windscreeens yet.
