I am mainly comparing the device to 2nd generation of the same 2i2.
The good:
- improved sound quality across the board, probably because of improved dynamic range
- the volume indicators in front panel are sexy.
- added controls to Windows desktop with Focusrite Control 2 are nice.
- great software bundle.
The not so good:
- increased price from 2nd and 3rd generation.
- it would be nicer if XLR and 6.3mm jacks were still combo solutions, and not separate jacks.
- needs extra USB-C power in many cases, so two cables instead of one.
- the front panel while leds are quite bright, and cant be turned off.
