It's my first H.B. and also my first LP guitar (only on ST so far). I'm reviewing it after three days of having it and playing it. So: surface finish, lacquer without any flaws. The maple veneer has an amazing look. The finish of the neck is also great. I lowered the fretboard a bit, the zero fret will need a little filing of the grooves, but very little. The guitar tunes in octaves and I didn't have to tune it. I really like the sound of the neck pickup, the tailpiece is aggressive by default, when disconnected to the single coil both pickups have a nice ringing single coil sound. Overall impression of the guitar: finish, lacquer = great. Frets, matching, tuning = after a little adjustment to my preference it's great. The sound of the pickups = when disconnected to singles they sound great, the humbuckers sound good, especially the neck sounds great, but it's a matter of habit, I have DiMarcio pickups on my ST and they sound different, not better or worse, just different , so the H.B. sound is also good. Overall the guitar is very good, very good indeed and considering the price of the guitar it's great! Great job Thomann, really great!!!
