Rules of the game

The Thomann X-Mas Song Contest 2016 consists of two rounds. Round 1 starts today, on the 24th of November and continues up to and including the 11th of December. During the first round, you upload your own X-Mas song to YouTube. You can upload a video or if you want to just upload the song, you can use this image. Most importantly, you should add “ThomannXMas2016” to both your title, as well your tags, so that our jury is able to find your song. Your song can not be a cover and must be your own original composition. A personal video is also welcome, but is not a must. Whether it’s a metal anthem or a classical symphony – all musical genres are welcome!

Among all the X-Mas songs, 5 finalists will be selected by our jury. This year they will also be supported by BACKSTAGE PRO, the social network for musicians. Criteria include musical quality of the composition, authenticity, creativity and passion. The Jury will also consider your opinions. So vote and leave comments on the YouTube posts and support your favorites! Finalists will be notified personally on December 15th on YouTube via private message.

The final round will take place on thomann.de starting from the 16th of December until the 22nd of December. The official Thomann X-Mas Song of 2016 and placements of the individual finalists are expected to be announced on the 23rd December 2016.

Important note: All winners will be notified on 23rd of December 2016 immediately after the voting, via YouTube. After receiving the prize notification via YouTube, the winner and other finalists must contact Thomann by the 1st of January to confirm their acceptance of their prize, otherwise the prize will be forfeited and we reserve the right to pass the prize on to the next participant.

Vote and win a 50 euro voucher!

The Songs of the 5 finalists will be made public after which you choose by voting: who shall claim the main/first place prize. Additionally we will randomly draw among all the people who voted and give away five gift vouchers with a value of 50 euros each!

Lawrence started playing the electric guitar because of his passion for rock music. Back in the day he played in a metal band, but now plays more for himself.

    Hey Larry,

Just to be clear: submitting an entry simply involves including ThomannXMas2016 in the YouTube video title and tags? No form to fill in or email to send?

    Cheers,
    Eoghan

Hi Eoghan, that’s right! Just include “ThomannXMas2016” in the title and tags so the judges will be able to find your entry. Have fun! 🙂

    Hi!
I’ve been working hard on this, but I’m trying to upload it to Youtube shortly before midnight and having difficulties. I wish there was a way I could attach it here to prove that it is ready 🙁 Anything I can do?
