New benchmark

SGStudios, 13.01.2018
LCT 440 pure is a beautiful modern designed large diagram condenser microphone with impressive electronic circuit and wonderful sounding 1 inch capsule, which can also be found in Lewitt hi-end range of microphones.

The microphone features impressive specs with self noise of 7dB (A) and a sensitivity of 27.4mV/Pa which means it will not introduce any noise in the signal chain and you'll need less preamp gain. It is therefor suitable for recording quiet sources such as Foley.
On the other end, it can handle the SPL of 140 dB, so you can throw it in front of the loud guitar amp or drums without worrying it will distort.
Frequency response is very smooth, with little emphasis on the upper region, which generally help the sources cut through the mix.

The most impressive thing about this microphone is the sound it captures. It is very detailed and refined, with clear reproduction of sound source(s). It's neutral and true to the source, without coloration, but tuned to give a slight boost in high frequencies. It has nothing in similar with the nasty/piercing sound of the overly bright cheep condenser microphones.

I would highly recommend using this microphone for recording Speech, Vocals, Acoustic Instruments, Sound Effects and Foley.

What a hammer microphone!

TURBO, 04.12.2017
It is very difficult to give a neutral rating here because the euphoria predominates.

I've been using the micro in the home studio for a few weeks now, using it for all requests, primarily vocals of course, as well as picking up amps and acoustic instruments. The sound is more than convincing, incredibly clear and transparent drawing, but quite voluminous. Due to the slight increase in frequency in the high-mid range as a singer, one has the feeling of being in the mix. Geiler is hardly possible!
This mic definitely plays a few more classes, not just one.

No wonder even Warren Huart raves on his YouTube channel. There he compared it to a Neumann U47 tube with absolutely unexpected (of course subjective) output!

Incidentally, I even gave 5 stars in the Features category, because you know in advance that the only feature is a solidly built and unbelievably sounding microphone for the best price.
Well, after all, the price is still a quite functional spider and a plug-on, magnetic Poppschutz here.
The spider is flattened at the front so that you can get even closer to eg a speaker.
And do not worry, the 440 can handle a lot of sound pressure! No chance to distort that with correct pre-setting of the preamp!

This is definitely the lightest and most confident buy recommendation I've ever made !!!

With the LCT440 Pure, the ambitious hobbyist, as well as the studio professional can make extremely appealing shots. And if you see the price difference to an AKG 414, then the Lewitt is almost a NoBrainer!

As I said, buy absolutely!
