Worthless quality, wished I spent a bit more on a TUSQ right away
I wanted to change the nut on my recently purchased Harley Benton super cheap Strat since it was filed too low on some of the strings. This nut looked okay but when I sanded it down and slotted it in it the angle made the thin E even lower than the original nut... I had to shim in some material underneath on one side which made it passable but still not ringing clear. Fine and dandy except the nut made the sound of the open strings super dull in general and the B string was sliding around in the slot making pinching sounds when bending etc. Not worth it with this low quality. Now I've purchased and put in a TUSQ XL PT-5042-00 and the difference is striking. The notes ring out loud and clear and even though I still need to file down the slots a bit to make it perfect I regret not just getting it in the first place. I'd still recommend this if you have good knowledge and skills to rework the nut and if the application is a guitar you don't really care about. Otherwise get a better nut from the start and be really careful when you take the old one out. ;-)
