Wonderful synth!
Sound:
I love analog sounds. This isn't analog but I love it just as much, if not more sometimes. The sound is more precise and focused than analog, but still has character. The preciseness means it is super easy to fit in a mix which is not to be underestimated.
The synth engine leans just slightly towards the darker side for my taste but there is an EQ: Just tweak it to match your preference. I normally turn up the high just very slightly which makes the sizzle more satisfying for me.
Included samples (flutes, strings, voices, guitars, etc) sound great and gives a fun break from all the synthiness.
Effects:
The effects sound fantastic but the settings are limited. However this is actually part of the beauty of this synth: Want reverb? It takes two seconds with a click and a pot twist and you have a great sounding reverb very close to what you were after, but choosen for you, and can keep on playing in the inspired moment.
Programming it:
I enjoy making my own patches but 99% of the time I just get stuck flipping presets and tweaking the synths I have. This synth however literally pulls patches out from you because it is so unbelivably quick and easy to do things. So much creative possibilities with the 4 layers! I sit down to just play a bit and all of a sudden it lured me into programming a new patch and I am pressing the save button, wondering how that happened. It's just so much fun :)
Managing your patches by naming them, moving them and swapping positions is, like exactly EVERYTHING else on this synth, super quick and easy. This helps because having your patches organised and named the way you want feels good for the OCD :)
Keybed:
I was a bit worried that the keybed would be to sluggish and slow based upon the piano key looks but it is fast. I think it feels firm and responsive - great. The aftertouch has a long travel which makes it really expressive.
Build quality:
Build quality is top notch and everything has a quality feel. It's a Nord.
Summary:
This is actually my favorite synth to date! I think it sounds lovely, tweaking multilayered patches couldn't be any simpler, and I think it is beautiful.
Highly recommend it if fun and inspiration is more important to you than having an LFO2!
