Pretty great instrument if he comes properly set up. Mine was terrible,
literally unplayable. Strings were so high and rusty and before i changed them i had to lower the bridge saddle and nut. Neck was not straight, but that is somewhat normal for such small neck size. Now it is playable. it's a pity that such low cost instruments are not set up and playable before the sale. For someone who doesn't know how to fix a guitar himself, the costs will increase significantly. Who knows how long they are in storage. The sound is ok, tuners are decent for the price.

Auf dem Markt für Akustik-Tenorgitarren scheint es (bis auf wenige Ausnahmen) nur drei Möglichkeiten zu geben: Vintage (teuer und mit unsicherer Qualität), Custom (noch teurer, dafür kompromisslose Qualität) oder sehr, sehr günstig.

Und obwohl diese Gitarre in der Liga "sehr, sehr günstig" spielt, ist in punkto Qualität und Verarbeitung fast nichts zu bemängeln:
Die Gitarre kam spielfertig eingestellt an. Saitenlage ist okay, Bundreinheit passt. Die Tuner sind simpel, aber drehen flüssig. Die Saiten waren anoxidiert – die habe ich direkt getauscht. Aber ansonsten positiv überrascht.

Der Klang: Mit den neuen Saiten klingt die Gitarre, wie eine Folk-Size eben klingt: klar, hell, gut ausgewogenes Fundament aber eben kein wummeriger Bass. Für melodiöses Spiel und Fingerpicking sehr gut geeignet, aber auch Akkorde klingen gut – vor allem in den etwas höheren Lagen. Ich spiele gern jazzigere Chord-Melody Sachen darauf und habe Spaß.

Einziges Manko: Die Gitarre hat ein mattes Finish, wie so viele günstige Instrumente. Das ist sicher Geschmackssache – ich mag es nicht so, weil man Fingerabdrücke sieht und das Finish nach einiger Zeit an einigen Stellen auch poliert wird und speckig wirkt. Dennoch bin ich froh, dass Recording King eher beim Finish gespart hat, als z.B. bei den Tunern.

Fazit: Sieht vintage aus, klingt gut und lässt sich gut spielen. Das ist deutlich mehr als ich für das Geld erwartet habe.
