Peavey invective MH

Misha Masoor ist dafür bekannt, dass er selbst eine lange Zeit zu den so genannten "bedroom guitarists" gehört hat. Man möge sagen er versteht leite sehr gut die gerne einen guten sound für ihr setup in der eigenen Behausung haben.

Und was soll ich sagen... Dieser amp kann das eine aber auch das Andere, er kann verdammt laut werden, er ist eigentlich von der Gainstage her sehr kratzig... Man könnte es mit einem Randall-Satan vergleichen. Jedoch ist der Invective viel definierter... Wenn man den Precence-Knob ein bisschen höher dreht, kann man einen Dimebag artigen ton bekommen... meiner Meinung nach. allerdings ist er natürlich auch perfekt für einen modernen Klang. und hat wie ich finde einen sehr eigenartigen aber perfekten klang für eine große Bandbreite im Metal-Bereich

Hab ihn mir bestellt, und viel spaß damit gehabt. EInen monat lang habe ich ihn so ziemlich täglich gespielt. Ging dann aber leider zurück, da mein Geschmack nicht mehr so metal lastig ist, wie ich dachte.

Mit dem Gate+build in boost (keine gain erhöhung, aber passt den charakter an ähnlich zum TS808 und Konsorten) ist er auch extrem flexibel, und auch der Fußschalter ist steuerbar. Er liefert also features, die ich noch nicht bei einem so kleinen Verstärker gesehen hab. Bis 12 Uhr aufm volume ist auch die Endstufe noch nicht mit drin, danach kann man aber sehr schnell hören, wie sie arbeitet, statt das volumen zu erhöhen. Damit kann man den modernen Charakter auch etwas zähmen und anwärmen, wenn man will. Letztlich kann er aber nichts schimmerndes, weswegen ich ihn zurück geschickt habe. Bei mir wirds wohl was digitales, mit meinen ansprüchen an flexiblität.

Amp was delivered about a week after ordering and I was left with big sense of disappointment since my first chord through the amp revealed that one of the tubes is dead. Had to contact Thomann. They handled it great and sent me a replacement tube free of charge. In the meantime I bought another tube by myself, swapped the dead one and finally had a go with the amp. But that first initial experience was very anticlimactic. It's nothing against Thomann or even Peavey. When you buy a tube amp, you're buying them knowing that they are fragile. Shit happens.

The amp itself sounds great tho. It's much louder than I expected (even on 1W mode) and funnily enough I'm enjoying the clean channel more than the dirty channel. Haha. Even though that one sounds great, I just wasn't expecting to like the clean channel that much. If you crank up the highs and presence knobs it gets nice and glassy and spanky. I'm getting great bluesy tones with my BD2 through the clean channel and my reverbs and delays sound awesome through the loop. Thumbs up.

The dirty channel is VERY tight. Don't have much to say here. Haha. It's a 5150/6505 based high gain amp and it does exactly what it promises. And does it well.

Overall it's a very versatile amp and I strongly recommend it. Good stuff Peavey and thanx Thoman for great communication and service.
