Gotoh NS510T-FE2 Tremolo C

Ich hatte zuvor ein fender Vintage Tremolo in meiner Strat verbaut und nach einer Alternative für den, trotz von unten gegendrückender Feder, schlockernden Gewinde Hebel gesucht. Mit dem Gotoh habe ich diese gefunden, es ist um Längen besser und zudem noch wesentlich günstiger. Die Verarbeitung ist makellos und solide, wie bei allen Sachen die ich bislang von Gotoh habe. Der Hebel sitzt wackelfrei im Tremolo und kann mit einer Madenschraube in der gewünschten Festigkeit fixiert werden. Kein nerviges Schlockern oder Vibrations Geräusche mehr. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Ich musste, mit einer Rundfeile, ein klein wenig am Body nachfeilen, damit die schraube, mit der der Tremolo Hebel von unten verschraubt ist, Platz zum schwingen hat. Aber das war mir vorher bewusst und es war keine große Sache, da bei mir das holz an der Stelle nur einen halben cm dick war. Wer den vintage Look des Hebels nicht missen möchte, kann einen herkömmlichen Plastikgriff einen halben Millimeter aufbohren und auf den Hebel stecken.

Very good quality. I have found one problem though. It seems tuning stability is just terrible for me. I’ve got a 70/80s unmarked Strat that I’ve modded away and it has its original bridge from who knows when and all I’ve replaced are saddles and it is perfect. No tuning problems at all. Stunning. Yet this £100+ bridge which is much better quality than my one is just disappointing. It’s in my Kramer baretta custom at the moment until I can put a Floyd rose. And it’s just got awful tuning stability. I’ve worn the strings in and I’ve stretched those springs and it just finds a way to de tune. I countered this with locking tuners as cannot use locking nut with this trem. Even so it just didn’t do the job. I really want to say this is worth it. Maybe for a general Strat trem which you use for slight vibrato it’s good.but say goodbye to dive bombs entirely. I’ve had to remove trem arm and screw spring claw further in to lock the trem down just to stop tuning problems. Now it’s fine. But it should not be like this for this price

Unfortunately, I had to return this Tremolo because it was not standardized correctly. I have purchased GOTOH products before and I can confirm that GOTOH products are perfectly made (high quality Japanese products) as is this Tremolo but the 6 holes for connecting to the guitar body on this Tremolo have a different base plate grid than the (declared) Narrow Spacing standard. The Saddle's set dimension & strings spacing on this Tremolo are correct according to the Narrow Spacing standard but not these 6 holes on the base plate. I planned to install this Tremolo on my Standard Fender Stratocaster (Narrow Spacing) and I am very sorry that I could not use it because it is an excellent product and at a very good price.
On this guitar of mine I previously had an original Fender Vintage, 6-Hole Narrow Strat Tremolo installed and later a Babicz FCH Z, 6-Hole Narrow Tremolo and both were correctly dimensioned. FYI: Narrow Bridge Spacing is 52.5mm and Wide Bridge Spacing is 56.0mm. If someone wants to buy & install this Tremolo on their Fender Stratocaster or other brand with 6 Tremolo holes, I advise them to first check which exact base raster standard they have on their guitar - Narrow or Wide?
