Fishman Fluence Bass 5 Soapbar Set

Sound ist ja immer subjektiv, aber hinsichtlich Sound-Vielfalt m.E. unschlagbar ( 3 "Voice" sowie Humbucker/Single-Coil-Schaltung) - quasi EM* und Bart*** in einem. Die Elektronik arbeitet Nebengeräusch-frei, alles sehr wertig. "Voice 1" reproduziert einen knurrigen Vintage-Sound (F***** lässt grüßen), welcher sich im lauten Bandgefüge bestens durchsetzt.
Ein Stern "Abstrich" bei der Verarbeitung: es sind nicht alle benötigten Kabel vorhanden (könnte aus den sehr langen PU-Kabeln "gebastelt" werden). Einige Lötarbeit nötig (3-Weg-Schalter, Platine - Panorama-Pott-Verbindungen, Erdungen), mit ein bisschen Erfahrung aber überhaupt kein Problem, sehr gute Einbauanleitung.
Fazit: klare Kaufempfehlung, falls man Erfahrung mit Lötarbeiten oder "Techniker" zur Hand hat!

I was looking at these pickups for a while now. When they came to thomann i immeadiatly ordered them. I installed it in my Spector Euro LX5, which previously had a combination of Aguilar OBP2 and EMG40DC. Let me tell you this, i am blown away by the tonal versatibility. The sound ranges from vintage p bass to a modern and clearer spector sound. It is a really well rounded up pickup system. Where the EMG lacks in middles, the fishman shines. Clearly the creators of this pickup system knew what they were doing. Give to that the ability to single coil the pickups with the push pull... so many options. Its like having 6 basses in one. It really made my Spector alive and shine. The signature spector sound is there, but this time really well rounded up.
verdict: Really versatile pickups, EMG no more...ever again. If you want to pull the trigger with this, coming from EMGs... just do it, you wont regret it

Right off the bat, the only reason I am giving a 4 star total is that they're tricky to install, and this is something others have also mentioned. I had to go to a proper luthier and it did give him a bit of a hard time. So definitely something to consider, as installation may prove more costly than you anticipated.

Now the pickups themselves: I put them in my old Ibanez SR705. The stock pickups were Bartollini MK1 which are OK but not great. As the instrument has a decent body and as it would be hard to sell for a good price to get a better bass, I figured upgrading the electronics was the way to go, and I was right! The pickups are very versatile with options for passive and two active voices (flat mids and scooped mids) and split coil. I thought I wouldn't use the split coil but I actually like how sharp it can sound in single coil mode. You can have a great sound whether you're looking for mellow Jazz or a punchy Metal. I do wish there was a 3 band EQ but to be honest you can always use the one on your DI or amp. Very happy with it, as I said only took out a star because of tricky installation

Dopo qualche anno ho voluto aggiornare il mio basso, che comunque si difendeva bene.

Per questo upgrade ho dovuto rinunciare al controllo dei medi del precedente preamp a 3 bande, ma non me ne pento perchè questi pick up e preamp hanno un suono molto equilibrato anche se il preamp Fishman ha solo 2 bande, non è una cosa da poco specialmente su un basso a 5 corde.

Voce 1 passiva:
ovviamente questo sistema non ha nulla di passivo, ma questo suono emula molto un suono passivo, pompandolo al massimo, molto bello e definito

Voce 2 moderna:
questo è il suono "standard" che mi aspetto da un basso attivo di buona qualità, sicuramente è un suono più moderno della voce 1 ma il suono "moderno" come lo intendo io è quello del Darglass Tone Capsule.
Nome a parte si ottiene comunque un ottimo suono altrettanto definito, ma non aspettatevi una differenza dal giorno alla notte con la voce 1.

Voce 2 con contorno di medie:
suonando con il plettro non noto differenze con la voce 2, mentre con lo slap noto appunto qualche frequenza media in più, ma mi sembra che vada un po' a impastare il suono. Non credo abbia molto senso questa voce ma immagino vada a gusti

Split coil:
funzione carina, fa perdere un po' di potenza ovviamente, magari non a tutti servirà ma funziona bene.

Sicuramente lo consiglio.
Non so se il successo di questo upgrade sia influenzato o meno dalla qualità del basso in tutta onestà, personalmente non avrei fatto installare il sistema Fishman su un basso da 150 euro.

Pro:
- prezzo (considerate che avete sia pick up che preamp inclusi)
- varietà di suoni (che indubbiamente c'è anche se non è esagerata come viene descritta da vari video)
- definizione del suono
- silenziosità
- potenza

Contro:
- prezzo (300 euro sono 300 euro)
- voce 2 con contorno di medi (non ha molto senso)
- installazione (ha dato filo da torcere al liutaio)
- batteria (essendo sia pick up che preamp attivi, la batteria ha vita dimezzata nel migliore dei casi, ma non richiede 2 batterie)
